Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with relevant experiences; Nutrition, Food Science, or Psychology graduates preferred based on experience.
Experience Requirements:
At least 2 years’ experience in NGO. Priority will be given to those who has training and experience to work with NGOs, especially Community management of acute malnutrition (CMAM) programming at NGO/INGO level.
Strong interest in working with nutrition, women and childcare, support and communities is required.
Motivation to work in the humanitarian field and sharing of EMERGENCY’s values and mission.
Good knowledge of child and/or adult development.
Knowledge and experience of early childhood care and development (ECCD) programs and techniques, theory, and practice.
Excellent skills in planning, organizing and implementation of capacity building activities.
Excellent communication skills and a willingness to be respectful, kind, sensitive and empathize with all beneficiaries and their cares.
Have good knowledge of Rohingya refugee programs.
Demonstrated ability to think and manage strategically, plan and meet deadlines.
Fluency in English, both written and verbal as well as Bangla.
Proficient knowledge of standard computer software is desirable.
Age Limit:

Ability and willingness to travel to camps and stay in the field if required.
Willingness and capacity to be flexible and accommodating when faced with difficult and frustrating working conditions like long distances walking to sites.

PREFERRED
Experience in working at camp level is advantageous.
Previous experience working in CMAM is an asset.

Job Context:
Reporting to the Nutrition Supervisor-Nutritionist, The ECCD Counsellors will be responsible for the implementation of ECCD relared activities of INI program in Cox’s Bazar Refugee camps. She will implement ECCD activities and ensure smooth integration into CMAM/CMAMI/OTP/TSFP/BSFP/IYCF-E/CDP and outreach components of the program as well as ensuring a strict adherence to donor compliances and standard protocol. The ECCD Promoter will work directly with the beneficiaries to provide ECCD services as well as work closely with the Nutrition Site Supervisors and other staff and volunteers at camp level to ensure smooth collaboration and coordination.

Supervise to: Volunteer who will be assigned by your site.
Job Location: At anywhere in Ukhiya & Teknaf Upazila (Camp area).
Duration: Till 31st December-2026 with a high possibility of extension by next year 2027.
Role Profile:
Reporting to the NSN, this incumbent is responsible for the center-based implementation of ECCD service delivery in INF. By providing Play sessions on ECCD at the INF level, support to the beneficiaries in the Kinds play zone corner, produce regular reports on activities, assessments, and follow-up.
Liaises with:
ECCD Promoter will work closely with the NSN and nutrition team at field level. She will coordinate all the site-based nutrition staff including the IYCF Counsellor, Storekeeper, Nurse as well as Community Nutrition Supervisor and Nutrition Supervisor. When requested, she will also liaise with external partners, including camp coordination bodies and NGOs, in relation to the nutrition program.
Job Descriptions / Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of Nutrition Supervisor (Nutritionist) the ECCD Promoter will be responsible for-
ECD Activities Implementation:
• The ECD Promoter will be responsible for overseeing the ECD activities in the assigned nutrition facility.
• Focus on child-friendly and age-appropriate ECD (play that develops physical, cognitive, and creative abilities).
• Prepare consolidated session micro plan including formation of groups and subsequent session conduction, follow up, challenge mitigation etc.
• Support and guide children to use and explore learning/play materials, tools and resources in the ECD zone.
Child Safety and Environment Management:
• Create and maintain a supportive, caring and safe environment for children.
• Follow and ensure the safety of the ECD zone and ECD kit.
• Make sure that all the children in the group are regularly followed up and attend the sessions with their caregivers.
• Make toys and games available that are clean and in good condition.
• Ensure all children arriving are properly registered and receive safe care.
Material and Inventory Management:
• Ensure that all material is counted for, in good condition and stored tidy and securely.
• Maintain a monthly inventory list by aligning the warehouse stock register.
Family and Community Engagement:
• Share the importance of ECD to mothers/caregivers.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with children and parents.
Coordination and Team Collaboration:
• Build and maintain effective relationships with nutrition team members and colleagues.
• Work closely with nutrition staff including IYCF Counsellor, Nurse, and Supervisors, especially for the nutritional updates of the children in the ECD groups and absent follow up.
Reporting and Capacity Strengthening:
• Prepare regular daily, weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc reports as requested and submit timely to the supervisor.
• Participate in training as requested.
• Contribute to the mapping of relevant actors (referral network) and setting up referral systems to other services available.
• Perform other assigned tasks by the supervisor.
Ensure organizational policies and donor compliances are in place:
• Orient team members on the Complaint Feedback Mechanism (CFM) and functional CFM at camp level following SoP
• Be aware of, understand and comply with all of SHED's policies and procedures (P4, finance, logistics, HR, security management, PSEA, CoC, & Cross Cutting Issues etc.)
• Work with relevant colleagues to ensure that the Complaints, Feedback and Response Mechanism (CFRM) is functional and accessible, and that feedback and complaints are welcomed and addressed.
• Work with relevant colleagues to ensure that information about CFRM, safeguarding and expected staff behavior is disseminated among programme participants and communities.
• Work in a manner that always protects confidentiality.
Besides the above-mentioned job activities, you must do any other job assigned by your supervisor & the organization as and when required.
