BSc in Civil Engineering or Masters in Environmental Science / Water Resources Management / Public Health / Disaster Management.

Working experience WASH response. 

Working in Humanitarian Assistance and Emergency Response Program.

Proven experience in working with UNHCR, UN agencies, and humanitarian coordination mechanisms.

Strong leadership, coordination, and project management skills, with experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams.

Expertise in WASH infrastructure design, hygiene promotion, and emergency response planning.

Excellent communication, advocacy, and negotiation skills with government, donors, and partners.

Proficiency in budget management, proposal development, and donor reporting.

Knowledge of Sphere Standards, humanitarian WASH guidelines, and climate-resilient WASH approaches.

Fluency in English and Bangla; knowledge of Rohingya/Chittagonian dialects is an asset.

The Project Manager-WASH will be responsible for overseeing the WASH interventions that are technically sound, sustainable, and responsive to the needs of refugees and host communities. This includes ensuring that WASH services are delivered in line with UNHCR and sector standards, are inclusive, and address the specific needs of vulnerable groups such as women, children, persons with disabilities, and marginalized communities. The role demands strong leadership, strategic planning, and technical expertise to manage project operations and deliver sustainable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and manage implementation plans for WASH interventions, ensuring timely delivery, quality standards, and the integration of gender, disability, and protection considerations.

Lead technical oversight of water, sanitation, and hygiene activities, including procurement, infrastructure, and routine field supervision to ensure accountability and quality.

Manage project budgets, ensure cost-effectiveness, and maintain compliance with donor (UNHCR) and organizational financial and reporting requirements.

Oversee procurement, logistics, and inventory management for WASH supplies and infrastructure, ensuring timely delivery, quality control, and accurate stock tracking.

Contribute to strategic planning by integrating innovative and sustainable approaches, developing new project proposals, and promoting cross-sectoral collaboration.

Coordinate with MEAL teams to monitor project outcomes, analyze data, document lessons learned, and ensure continuous improvement in WASH programming.

Represent the organization in coordination forums, liaise with government bodies and stakeholders, and provide leadership, capacity building, and performance management for the WASH team.
