Experience:
Master’s degree in Economics, Social Science, Development Studies or Environmental Studies.
At least 5 years of project management experience, preferably in energy or climate advocacy projects.
Strong understanding of energy policies, renewable energy, and political engagement.
Proven skills in report writing, budget management, stakeholder management, media engagement and public advocacy.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Bangla and English.
Ability to travel frequently to districts and upazilas.
Consumers Association of Bangladesh (CAB) is a non-govt. non-political and non-profit voluntary consumer organization was founded in 1978. Primarily started as a social group to protect consumers from commodity adulteration and artificial price-hike it has gradually widened its scope to establish and safeguard consumers’ rights and interests in social, economic, health and environmental issues.
Currently CAB is seeking applications for a project titled ‘Renewable Energy Promotion in Energy Transition of Bangladesh’. The overall goal of this project is to create a level playing field for renewable energy promotion and ensure equitable prices for consumers by advocating to set up a rational electricity tariff mechanism and increase energy efficiency.
CAB invites applications from the qualified candidates for the following position:
Position: Project Manager
Employment Type: Full-time
Location: Dhaka with frequent field visits
Project duration: 01 December 2024 to 30 September 2025.
Job Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage the implementation of project objectives, including reviewing PPAs, advocating for RE policies, and engaging with policymakers and political leaders.
Coordinate multi-stakeholder consultations, workshops, and dialogues at divisional level.
Develop campaign strategies and ensure effective execution of activities, including narrative building and public engagement campaigns.
Prepare detailed project plans, budgets, and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Supervise project staff and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Organize media outreach activities, conduct journalist orientations, and facilitate publications.
Represent the organization in meetings with policymakers, media, CSOs, and other stakeholders.
Monitor project performance, prepare regular progress reports, and recommend strategic adjustments as needed.
Experience in developing concept notes and project proposal will get preference.
