Education:
∎ Diploma in Engineering in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Civil Engineering, Construction Management
∎ Diploma or Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or other related discipline from a recognized university with minimum 2nd division/class or GPA/CGPA 2.50 in all examinations.

∎ Minimum 5 years experiences in construction discipline, where at least 2 years’ of progressive working experience in Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) projects in both rural and urban contexts, preferably with NGO's, targeting low income communities in both rural and urban contexts.
∎ Working experience on WaterAid Bangladesh funded project will be given preference.
∎ Experience in developing design, estimation and appropriate implementation of WASH infrastructures in both rural and urban context.
∎ Experience in developing and piloting of water technology/models for hard to reach areas, urban slums and rural areas.
∎ Have adequate knowledge in System Strengthening at Local Level Government/ Municipality
∎ Good understanding of water contamination factors, water testing protocols (country context) and health & safety issues at work places during construction
∎ Excellent computer operation skills including online monitoring and reporting, AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, MS word, power point, email and internet browsing.
∎ Experience in operating different types of field test kits (for water quality test) will be given preferred
∎ Creative sense on relevant constructive work in slums and institutions
∎ Good interpersonal skills, has demonstrated proactive roles in team work
∎ Ability to ride motorbike with having valid driving license.
∎ Able to cope with stress and work under difficult circumstances.
∎ Ability to adopt online reporting system
∎ Have to be gender sensitive with sound knowledge and experience on gender issues.
∎ Experiences in working with different types of water treatment technologies (treating Saline, Iron, Arsenic), Rain water harvesting system, etc. will be considered as and added values.
Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Develop appropriate technical & engineering sketches and relevant engineering drawings/designs, budget for different types of context specific inclusive WASH infrastructures and present to the donor for approval
∎ Communicate, coordinate and negotiate with donor counter part for design and budget approval and other relevant issues in this regard.
∎ Develop BOQ for different types of WASH infrastructures following approved design and standard specifications.
∎ Coordinate with the WaterAid focal person to finalize the technical drawing and design
∎ Responsible for providing technical supervision and guidance on the quality of work on WASH technological options at all stages of the project management cycles.
∎ Ensure water quality, environmental sanitation and its proper documentation.
∎ Support project manager in financial management of WASH infrastructure related interventions and field level implementation.
∎ Monitor and ensure quality of construction materials
∎ Monitor and ensure quality of all hardware construction through extensive field visits in difficult project locations in regular basis
∎ Regular report to management/supervisor regarding work progress
∎ Ensure appropriate health and safety issues during construction.
∎ Responsible to lead, motivate and provide technical support to all field level project staffs
∎ Support in procurement process for the project related procurements.
∎ Regularly deal with field problems and take necessary action to resolve them in coordination with management.
∎ Keep a daily Project log of all major activities.
∎ Do water quality test, ensure adequate budget for doing different tests and ensure timely report through online reporting system as per standard guideline.
∎ Coordinate with project staff and other relevant stakeholders like LGIs, DPHE, Water quality testing laboratories etc.

∎ Major Job Responsibilities: The project engineer is responsible for the engineering and technical disciplines needed to complete the project. The project engineer works to plan projects, establish project criteria, coordinate project reviews, and ensure the proper implementation of project elements.
