Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Marketing, Mass Communication & Journalism, Media Studies, or a related discipline.

  • 4–8 years of experience in media planning, media buying, advertising, or corporate communications.

  • Experience in a corporate organization, media agency or advertising agency will be preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Microsoft Excel (Advanced)

  • Microsoft 365

  • Google Workspace

  • Canva

  • AI Tools (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude etc.)

  • Digital Advertising Platforms (preferred)

  • Media Monitoring & Reporting Tools (preferred)



Responsibilities & Context:

1. Media Planning

  • Develop strategic media plans aligned with corporate communication and marketing objectives.

  • Recommend the most effective media mix based on campaign goals, target audience and budget.

  • Prepare annual, quarterly and campaign-specific media plans.

  • Conduct audience and media consumption analysis to optimize campaign effectiveness.

  • Identify new media opportunities and innovative advertising platforms.

 

2. Media Buying & Scheduling

  • Plan, negotiate, and purchase advertising space and airtime across television channels, newspapers, magazines, radio stations and online news portals.

  • Develop comprehensive media schedules for TV commercials, print advertisements, and sponsorship activities.

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely campaign execution.

  • Ensure advertisements are released according to approved schedules and media plans.

  • Secure premium placements, front-page advertisements, preferred TV time bands, sponsored content placements, and value-added opportunities.

  • Monitor schedule changes and coordinate rescheduling whenever required.

  • Maintain an annual corporate media calendar covering all campaigns, launches, events, and seasonal activities.

  • Ensure all creative materials are delivered to media partners within deadlines.

 

3. Media Negotiation

  • Negotiate advertising rates, discounts, bonus spots, editorial support, sponsorship opportunities and value-added benefits.

  • Achieve maximum return on media investment through effective negotiation.

  • Build long-term strategic partnerships with media organizations.

  • Benchmark media rates against industry standards.

 

4. Campaign Execution

  • Coordinate end-to-end execution of media campaigns.

  • Ensure advertisements are published or aired accurately and on time.

  • Liaise with media agencies and publication houses throughout campaign implementation.

  • Resolve campaign execution issues promptly.

  • Ensure compliance with approved communication guidelines and brand standards.

 

5. Vendor & Media Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with:

    • Television Channels

    • Newspapers

    • Online News Portals

    • Radio Stations

    • Magazines

    • Media Buying Agencies

  • Conduct periodic vendor performance evaluations.

  • Maintain updated media contact databases.

  • Coordinate annual rate negotiations and service agreements.

 

6. Budget Management

  • Prepare campaign-wise media budgets.

  • Monitor media expenditures against approved budgets.

  • Verify quotations, work orders, invoices, and payment documents.

  • Ensure optimum utilization of media budgets.

  • Maintain accurate records of media spending.
