Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline
Advanced Project Management qualification (PMP, PMI, APM or equivalent)
Minimum 15+ years of experience managing large-scale, complex international infrastructure projects
Proven track record delivering projects with construction value exceeding USD 200 million
Experience in ports, container terminals, maritime infrastructure, airports, highways, railways, or logistics infrastructure
Prior experience working in Bangladesh or similar emerging markets will be an added advantage
Strong end-to-end project leadership across the full lifecycle — from project setup to Go-Live and handover
Proven capability to lead multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural project teams across construction, automation, equipment, IT, and integration workstreams
Excellent stakeholder management skills with ability to align diverse internal and external stakeholders
Demonstrated experience in setting up project organizations, governance frameworks, and delivery models
Strong commercial and business acumen with ability to manage scope, schedule, cost, and risk
Hands-on leadership style with strong focus on safety, collaboration, and delivery excellence
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
High integrity, sound judgment, and ability to assess the broader organizational impact of decisions
We are seeking a highly experienced Project Director to lead the successful delivery of a large-scale, complex capital infrastructure project in Bangladesh, in line with APM Terminals’ strategic, operational, and governance requirements.
The Project Director has full accountability for the project lifecycle — from establishing the project organization, recruiting and leading the project team, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, integration, and final handover — ensuring the terminal is fully operational and ready to Go Live as per the approved project schedule.
The role requires strong leadership, sound business judgment, and the ability to set clear direction and priorities while adhering to APM Terminals’ “Way of Working,” values, and governance standards. The Project Director will lead a high-performing, multi-disciplinary team and foster a strong culture of collaboration, safety, and accountability across internal teams, contractors, and partners.
