Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related discipline

• Professional HSSE certifications preferred (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, ISO 45001/14001, or equivalent)

• 10 to 15 years
• The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Logistic/Courier/Air Express Companies

• 10–15+ years of progressive HSSE experience, with significant exposure to large infrastructure or construction projects

• Proven experience in greenfield projects, preferably in ports, terminals, maritime infrastructure, oil & gas, energy, or heavy construction

• Strong working knowledge of local HSSE regulations, international standards, and corporate HSSE frameworks

• Proven leadership experience in managing HSSE for complex, multi-contractor construction environments

• Strong capability to act as a client-side HSSE representative, influencing contractors and partners

• Hands-on experience implementing HSSE systems from project setup through construction and transition to operations

• Ability to proactively identify risks and drive preventive actions with a positive HSSE mindset

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

• Strong presence on site with the ability to challenge unsafe practices constructively

• High personal integrity and commitment to safety, health, security, and environmental excellence

We are seeking an experienced HSSE Manager to lead the Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) agenda for the development and construction of a greenfield container terminal project in Laldia, Chattogram, Bangladesh.

This role has full accountability for planning, implementing, and continuously improving HSSE strategies across the project lifecycle — from early construction through transition into live terminal operations. The HSSE Manager will ensure full compliance with local legislation, APM Terminals’ corporate standards, and international industry best practices, safeguarding people, assets, and the environment.

As a key member of the project leadership team, the HSSE Manager will act as a proactive client representative, working closely with contractors, consultants, and engineers to establish one of the safest construction sites — and ultimately one of the safest operational terminals — in Bangladesh.
