Job Context:
∎ UNITEX Group is emerging as a large conglomerate through diversified business portfolio. We are putting our footprints in Agri Business with a solid penetration plan in poultry with a vision to lead the table egg segment. This will be an integrated mega project with inclusion of PS farm, Hatchery, Commercial Layer, Feed Mill etc.
∎ We are looking for a Project Director (Agri Business) for immediate recruitment. This is an outstanding career opportunity for the competent professionals who are at the moment working in senior leadership positions in poultry industry.
∎ Role Profile Summary:
∎ The Project Director will be responsible and accountable for leading the planning & robust executions of all projects related to the Agri business with guidance from the MD and CEO. This would require pro-active & solid coordination across all departments and the valued business partners. It`s the responsibility of the PD to ensure solid supervision of the projects and report any potential business or operational risks with mitigation plans. The single broad objective of PD is to ensure the successful completion and commissioning of all projects as per the approved calendar for each project in Agri business.
∎ Reporting Line: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
∎ Job Location: Corporate Office, Dhaka with frequent visits to project site.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ To prepare comprehensive project plans in consultation with the functional experts and the global vendors. It is imperative to have detail activity critical path along with timelines for completion and potential risks factors along with mitigation plans.
∎ To coordinate with all departments to ensure robustexecutions of all activities as per the defined activity critical path for each project.
∎ To ensure effective supervision & control over all execution related activities for all projects of the vendors.
∎ To engage with the management stuff and the vendors on the project site to follow up the progress, assess the quality of executions, identify areas of improvements etc. and initiate required corrective measures as applicable.
∎ To ensure recruitment as per the approved head count in line with the activity critical path of each project in coordination with the HR department. It is imperative that PD needs to take ownership in assisting the HR department in sourcing the talents in key positions from the Agri industry.
∎ To take ownership to ensure an enabling working environment for the employees with support from the Head of HR so that project deliverables are on track.
∎ To update periodic project progress review with the Management Board along with recommendations based on multiple scenario to assist in informed decision making.
∎ To lead and guide the relevant functional experts of each function to develop SOPs.
∎ To develop KPIs through direct lead from the HR department for all key roles and embedding a performance-based culture by engaging HR as a business partner.
∎ To coordinate with the global vendors to ensure availability of their functional experts in areas like PS & Layer Farm management, nutrition, hatchery etc. for periodic training for our team.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum fifteen (15) years of professional experience and minimum five (5) years' experience in senior leadership positions like DGM/GM in functional areas like commercial layer farm management or DGM/GM Admin & Operations in leading a large regional operation.
∎ Qualified applicants working as DGM/GM (Admin & Operations) must have exposures in working with a cross functional team in planning and monitoring of new projects for commercial layer farm, PS farm, hatchery etc.
∎ Qualified applicants working as DGM/GM (Admin & Operations) need to have solid experience of ensuring close supervision and control on entire business echo system across the assigned geographic region to facilitate in achieving the business objectives. They need to have hands-on experience in supporting the business development activities and driving cost optimization through operational efficiency. Exposures in maize purchase process is required. On the job exposures in managing the key external stakeholders is an added advantage.
∎ Other Requirements:
∎ The Project Director (PD) will require extensive travelling in project sites for on-the-job monitoring of project progress. Ideally the PD needs to spend around 30% of working days in project areas which will vary in line with the project progress and operational challenges. He will also be required to attend workshops and/or exhibitions etc. related to poultry science as part of professional development to contribute in achieving broad objectives.
∎ Good communication skill with reasonably good IT skills in MS Offices.
∎ Career Progression:
∎ The Project Director will be promoted as Chief Operating Officer (COO) after successful commissioning of the commercial layer farm.
