Educational Requirements:
∎ Post-graduate in social sciences, environmental science, MDS, DRM, or related discipline.
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 5 year(s)
Job Context:
∎ ECHO HIP Urban resilience project in Dhaka and Naryangonj has been started. The Project is supported by Save the Children International.
∎ Reports to : Executive Director
∎ Duty station : Dhaka & have to visit Narayangonj regularly.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ KEY AREA 1: PROGRAMME IMPLEMENTATION AND MONITORING
∎ Provide guidance and support to GO-NGOs and project's staffs to ensure that the project is implemented effectively with high impact according to agreement with donor and state-of-the-art technical quality standards
∎ Lead preparation, review, and periodic revision of detailed implementation plans
∎ Monitor progress through field visits, review of indicators, and meetings with staff, communities, partners, and other stakeholders
∎ KEY AREA 2: PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT, ADVOCACY AND NETWORKING
∎ Develop strategy on advocacy, key messages and detail plan for advocacy to national level govt. & non govt. stakeholders
∎ Develop a stakeholders' analysis and take steps to rapport building with related stakeholders
∎ KEY AREA 3: COORDINATION/REPRESENTATION
∎ Maintain a solid, up-to-date understanding with all the ECHO HIP implementing organization & other NGOs
∎ Represent CPD in different urban forums and networks efficiently
∎ KEY AREA 4: BUDGET MANAGEMENT
∎ Work with SCI & finance department to ensure effective management of project budget, with full compliance to donor's regulations.
∎ Identify potential variances of expenses vs. budget, and recommend appropriate adjustments to SCI
∎ KEY AREA 5: REPORTING AND DOCUMENTATION
∎ Prepare periodic reports, case-studies and best practices
∎ Develop a common platform to disseminate learning's and challenges of the project.
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 5 years' experience with risk reduction projects, especially with urban risk reduction and resilience .
∎ Experience in consortium project management
∎ Strong management/supervisory skills
∎ Proven facilitation and training skills
∎ Knowledge of industry 'best practices' in disaster risk reduction and resilience projects
∎ Excellent written communications including report writing, newsletters, articles in newspapers
∎ Financial/budget management skills
∎ Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, email, internet
∎ Motivated, committed, responsible, able to work independently with limited direct supervision
∎ Keep the supervising ED updated on all necessary and important project processes and issues.
∎ Willingness to drive motorcycle & have valid motor driving license.
Salary:
∎ Salary will be 56,719.00 BDT per month, including all benefits and bonuses. The salary is not negotiable.
