Job Responsibilities:
∎ Prepare a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, bread etc. following traditional and modern recipes.
∎ Create new and exciting desserts to renew our menus and engage the interest of customers.
∎ Decorate pastries using different icings, toppings etc. to ensure the presentation will be beautiful and exciting.
∎ Monitor stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar etc. and make appropriate orders within budget.
∎ Check quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used for cooking.
∎ Guide and motivate pastry assistants and bakers to work more efficiently.
∎ Identify staffing needs and help recruit and train personnel.
∎ Maintain a lean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards.
∎ Giving instructions, menus and ideas for buffet making, ala carte restaurant, Food production as usual.
∎ To supervise the kitchen team and produce consistently high-quality food production and presentation, always meeting agreed standards.
∎ Met with the customers to discuss custom-made desserts or baked goods for special occasions.
∎ Ensuring the bakery section of the kitchen adheres to health and safety regulations.
∎ Developed the new seasonal recipes and menus and keep up with the latest trends.
∎ Attends daily briefings and meetings when required.
∎ To present a strong Sodexo image at all times ensuring full uniform is worn, clean and pressed.
∎ To prepare and assist in any special functions, which may sometimes be outside normal working hours.
∎ Liaising with the Head Chef to agree on menu additions and production.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 40 years
∎ Diploma in Professional Bakery or Hospitality and Catering.
∎ Diploma in Professional Culinary Arts or Professional Cookery.
∎ Knowledge of food production methods and techniques. Hospitality industry will be preferred.
∎ In depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation and baking techniques and nutrition
∎ Working knowledge of baking with ingredient limitations (pastries that are gluten free, sugarless etc.) Food Hygiene Certificate.
∎ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
