Technical Skills
The candidate should have:
Strong understanding of child protection, case management, referral pathways, and community mobilization.
Ability to work with government departments, community structures, and service providers.
Good knowledge of protection principles, confidentiality, survivor-centered approaches, and safeguarding standards.
Ability to provide immediate support in emergency protection situations.
Skills in organizing meetings, community sessions, awareness activities, and field-level coordination.
Knowledge of IPT theater show conduction is an added advantage.
Technology Skills
The candidate should be:
Skilled in using MS Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Able to prepare reports, maintain records, and manage basic data.
Familiar with case management software or databases, where applicable.
Language Skills
The candidate should have:
Fluency in Bangla
Knowledge of the Chittagonian dialect is an added advantage.
Experience Requirements
The candidate should have:
At least 2 years of experience in child protection, social work, legal aid, community mobilization, or related development programs.
Experience working in vulnerable, crisis-affected, or humanitarian settings.
Experience in mobilizing community resources and forming child protection committees or community groups.
Experience working with government departments, local authorities, NGOs, or community-based structures.
Practical experience in emergency response or case management support is preferred.

Safeguarding and PSEA Responsibilities
Paralegal must actively promote and follow safeguarding and PSEA standards. The position must help ensure a safe working and service environment free from harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation. The Paralegal is expected to act as a source of support and guidance on safeguarding issues and ensure that safeguarding principles are followed in all activities.

Reports To: Legal Officer
Job Purpose
The Paralegal will provide legal, social, and case management support to individuals, families, adolescents, children, elderly people, and vulnerable community members. The position will work closely with the Department of Social Services, local government representatives, community protection structures, and relevant project teams to identify protection concerns, support referrals, strengthen community engagement, and assist in the implementation of child protection and social support activities.
The Paralegal will play an important role in ensuring that vulnerable individuals receive timely guidance, access to services, and appropriate support through community-based protection mechanisms and coordinated case management.
Program Implementation
The Paralegal will:
Provide regular technical and field-level support to the Project Officer in client selection, following organizational standards and project requirements.
Support the formation of community groups to increase participation in child protection and community-based activities.
Build and maintain strong relationships with Social Welfare Officers, Union Social Workers, Union Parishad representatives, Upazila and District-level service providers.
Support the Department of Social Services case management process at community and institutional levels.
Strengthen referral mechanisms by working closely with government officials, service providers, and project teams.
Coordinate with Women Protection and Empowerment, Economic Recovery and Development, Protection Rule of Law, and partner staff to design activities based on the needs of adolescents and vulnerable groups.
Prepare, maintain, and regularly update detailed work plans to ensure timely implementation of project activities.
Conduct regular field visits to identify new cases, monitor child protection concerns, and support project implementation.
Take immediate action in emergency case management situations, especially for survivors and high-risk individuals.
Analyze the situation of adolescents and children in the community and propose practical initiatives.
Organize and support monthly, quarterly, and yearly meetings with CBCPCs and adolescent clubs.
Community Engagement
The Paralegal will:
Inform community members about Department of Social Services programs, child rights, available services, and referral pathways.
Support the formation, activation, and regular functioning of Community-Based Child Protection Committees and adolescent clubs.
Work with local authorities, community leaders, and service providers to monitor child protection issues.
Encourage community participation in child protection, social welfare, and awareness-raising activities.
Promote safe, inclusive, and community-led approaches to protection and service access.
Coordination and Representation
The Paralegal will:
Work in coordination with NGOs, and local service providers to ensure effective child protection responses.
Support the planning and facilitation of stakeholder meetings.
Maintain regular communication with other organizational sectors, including GBV, DRR, livelihoods, and protection teams.
Build effective working relationships with community-based protection mechanisms and child protection service providers.
Represent the organization in coordination forums when required.
Share updates on child protection activities and advocate for the safety, dignity, and well-being of women, girls, children, and vulnerable community members.
