Experience:

Technical certificate, vocational qualification or relevant training in painting or building maintenance is preferred

• Experience with an international hotel brand in the Hospitality Industry will be an added advantage

• Pre opening/ Post opening experience in a five-star/upper- upscale hotel will be considered and added advantage

• Good knowledge of surface preparation, paint application and finishing techniques.

• Ability to work with different types of paints, coatings and finishes.

• Good attention to detail and quality.

• Ability to work at heights using ladders and approved access equipment safely.

• Physically fit and able to perform manual work.

• Reliable, disciplined and safety-conscious.

• Ability to work flexible hours, weekends and public holidays when required. 

The Painter will be responsible for maintaining the appearance and condition of guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas and other hotel facilities through professional painting, surface preparation and decorative maintenance.

Responsibilities:

• Carry out painting and decorative maintenance work throughout the hotel.

• Paint and maintain guest rooms, corridors, public areas, offices, restaurants, F&B outlets and back-of-house areas.

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, filling cracks and repairing minor imperfections before painting.

• Apply paint, primer, varnish, enamel and other appropriate finishes according to hotel standards.

• Match existing paint colors and finishes accurately.

• Repair peeling, damaged or stained paintwork promptly.

• Perform touch-up painting in guest rooms and public areas when required.

• Maintain walls, ceilings, doors, frames, skirting, furniture and other painted surfaces.

• Assist with wallpaper installation, removal and minor wall-covering repairs where required.

• Protect furniture, flooring, fixtures and equipment from paint, dust and other materials during work.

• Maintain proper housekeeping and cleanliness of work areas after completing each job.

• Safely handle and store paints, thinners, solvents and other painting materials.

• Ensure proper disposal of used paint containers and hazardous materials according to hotel procedures.

• Maintain painting tools, equipment and materials in good working condition.

• Report major wall, ceiling, water-damage or structural defects to the Engineering Supervisor.

• Respond promptly to painting and maintenance requests from hotel departments.

• Complete work orders within the required time and quality standards.

• Assist the Engineering team with general maintenance tasks when required.

• Follow all hotel health, safety and environmental procedures.

• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when carrying out painting and maintenance work.

• Maintain professional conduct while working in guest and public areas
