Job Context:
∎ The OTP/TSFP Nurse, Nutrition will work to ensure high quality health and nutrition services for Nutrition Program beneficiaries (SAM/MAM).
∎ Duty Station: Ukhiya, Kutupalong Refugee Camp- Camp 3
∎ Report To: Nutrition Site Supervisor
∎ Expected Start Date: 1st April 2023
∎ Contract length: Up to 30th June, 2023 (With possibility of Extension subject to funding, program needs and performance of incumbent)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Ensure good triage of patients/beneficiaries in the facility.
∎ Ensure that every beneficiary receives an adequate medical examination, appropriate diagnosis, treatment and referral for additional treatment following national protocols and standard guidelines.
∎ Conduct medical examination to all beneficiaries which include vital signs physical examination and medical history.
∎ Prescribe routine medications and provide treatment according to standard CMAM guidelines and treatment protocols including Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses.
∎ Follow CMAM protocols in assessing, admitting and treating beneficiaries in CMAM (OTP/TSFP) program.
∎ Timely referral of children with severe acute malnutrition (SAM) with medical complications to the nearby stabilization Centre (SC).
∎ Identifying and referring unimmunized children to the nearest health facility for EPI services.
∎ To ensure that any beneficiary requiring further medical assistance is referred to the nearest health facility in accordance with protocols.
∎ Correctly record all relevant information (symptoms, diagnosis, measurements, treatment plan) for each beneficiary on appropriate forms (child card, patient file, etc.) of beneficiaries and medication given and complete the child's card at every visit.
∎ Keep an up-to-date record of all medication used and be responsible for stock management and reporting (distribution monitoring, use of non-expired drugs, stock ordering etc.).
∎ Follow standard infection prevention and control measures in all activities.
∎ Ensure wastes (medical and non-medical) are adequately disposed of at the facility.
∎ Provide health education and counselling to all caretakers.
∎ Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports as requested and timely submit to site supervisor.
∎ Build capacity of other members of nutrition team through on-the-job training.
∎ Participate in trainings as requested.
∎ Attend team meetings and other meetings as requested.
∎ Ensure that all equipment is in good working condition and clean, including disinfection where needed.
∎ To handle the beneficiaries in a sensitive and reassuring manner.
∎ Report any problems or broken equipment to site supervisor.
∎ Undertake other tasks as requested by supervisor.
∎ Maintain up to date records on above functions for provision of reports to supervisor as requested.
∎ Health & Safety
∎ Comply with established health and safety policies with regard to handling of instruments, storage of drugs and disposal of sharps and other potentially dangerous equipment and substances.

∎ Age 20 to 30 years

∎ Two years of experience of OTP/TSFP in the nutrition field is an added advantage.
∎ Good spoken and written English
∎ Ability to work under minimal supervision, hard situations with minimal resource
∎ Ability to promote RI vision and mission including gender, child protection and PSEA.
