∎ Understanding of local development challenges and multilevel governance in Bangladesh;

∎ Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Bangla languages;
∎ Ability to work productively in a highly collaborative setting (is a team player) while also able to operate an independently with limited to no supervision;
∎ Excellent computer literacy in MS Office programmes (specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook);
∎ Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively under pressure;
∎ Demonstrates openness to change and ability to manage complexities; works with trustworthiness and integrity and is committed to Swisscontact's core values; and
∎ Demonstrates awareness and sensitivity to gender and diversity (including sensitivity towards differently abled people).
∎ 3-5 years of progressive professional experience in similar role(s), preferably in NGO/INGO(s);
∎ The incumbent must conform to the following qualifications:

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Support in the development and implementation of PRABRIDDHI’s advocacy strategy.
∎ Develop engaging messaging and key narratives around the team’s work to support the long-term institutionalization and advocacy strategy.
∎ Collaborate with the communications team to create advocacy messaging, campaigns, and communication materials, and ensure their dissemination across coalitions and networks at local and global levels.
∎ Monitor policy development, legislative changes and emerging issues related to local economic development in Bangladesh.
∎ Liaise and manage external vendors such as video producers, photographers, and graphic designers to develop high-quality advocacy content and materials.
∎ Coordinate and maintain working relationship with project stakeholders (e.g., Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), National Institute of Local Government (NILG), Municipal Association of Bangladesh etc.) to identify and prioritize key advocacy goals and objectives.
∎ Engage with government institutions, policymakers, civil society, academia, and media to lobby and advocate for the project’s objective.
∎ Coordinate, organize and document meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
∎ Foster collaboration and coordination among diverse stakeholders for the arrangements of events.

∎ About PRABRIDDHI
∎ PRABRIDDHI is a Local Economic Development (LED) project, funded by the Government of Bangladesh and Switzerland, and co-implemented by the Local Government Division (LGD) and Swisscontact. The pilot phase of PRABRIDDHI came to a successful end by August 2020. Phase 1 of the project started in January 2021 for a period of four years and focuses on further development of the LED approach in participating municipalities, capacity building of stakeholders and facilitators of LED and an anchoring of the approach on national level. Throughout the phase, the project will be implemented in seven municipalities. Shibganj, Jashore, Bogura, Dinajpur, Kushtia, Cox’s Bazar and Bhairab.
∎ Employment starts: 1st October, 2024
∎ Contract duration: Initial contract of 1 year; contract extension based on the incumbent’s performance
∎ Place of work: Dhaka with visit to the project field locations outside Dhaka
∎ Tasks
∎ The responsibilities of the incumbent will be as follows:
∎ Advocacy Strategy:
∎ Support in the development and implementation of PRABRIDDHI’s advocacy strategy.
