  • Strong knowledge of woven garments quality standards.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities & Context:
  • Review and understand the buyer's tech pack (technical package), Purchase Order (PO) sheet, and approved samples.
  • Measure all incoming cut components and verify accessories (threads, buttons, labels, etc.) against the approved trim card.
  • Conduct a "first piece" or "first bundle" review (pilot run) to identify potential problems and implement immediate corrective actions (CAP) before bulk production starts.
  • Attend Pre-Production (PP) meetings with the factory's quality team and merchandisers to discuss and align on quality requirements.
  • Perform regular, in-line inspections (DPI - Dupro Process Inspection) based on the AQL (Acceptable Quality Level) standard to monitor the production process continuously.
  • Implement and monitor the Traffic Light System of inspection (typically green for pass, yellow for alterable, red for reject) to track defects and performance in real-time.
  • Verify all quality points, including stitch per inch (SPI), seam security, correct thread tension, and proper placement of labels and other accessories.
  • Ensure operators follow approved sewing techniques, maintain the correct shape/design, and adhere to the broken needle policy.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring defects and work with the production team to develop and implement preventive strategies.
  • Perform pre-final and final inspections to ensure the finished product meets all specified quality parameters before shipment.
  • Verify garment measurements against the buyer's spec sheet or measurement chart.
  • Conduct physical on-site tests, such as button pull tests or stitch strength tests, if required.
  • Levi's Buyer Knowledge (Specific Requirements)
  • For a Levi's buyer NQA, specific expertise related to denim and their particular procedures is essential:
  • Knowledge of Levi's Standards: Must have thorough, well-versed knowledge of Levi's specific quality assurance procedures, technical specifications, and quality manuals.
  • Inspection Protocols: Must be experienced with Levi's specific final, inline, and pre-final inspection procedures, often involving AQL 1.5, Level 2 standards.
  • Product Expertise: Sound knowledge of woven products, especially denim, including an understanding of fabric properties, washing effects, and common defects.
  • Reporting and Communication: Responsible for maintaining detailed quality reports and data analysis, and capable of handling and negotiating quality issues directly with vendors and the buying house QC team.
