Responsibilities & Context:
Clinical Management: Evaluate, diagnose, and treat premature, low-birth-weight, or critically ill neonates.
Advanced Procedures: Perform high-risk interventions including endotracheal intubation, umbilical line insertions, lumbar punctures, and resuscitation.
Emergency Response: Lead the medical team during neonatal resuscitation and high-risk deliveries.
Supervision & Mentorship: Guide, teach, and oversee junior medical officers, residents, and neonatal interns.
Care Coordination: Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of neonatologists, specialized nurses, and therapists.
Family Communication: Counsel parents regarding their infant's diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment plan.
Quality & Safety: Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and policy updates.
