Job Summary
We are looking for a experienced and dynamic Production Officer (Unani Medicine) to lead our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate must possess comprehensive, A-to-Z knowledge of traditional Unani medicine production and demonstrate deep expertise in manufacturing diverse Unani dosage forms, including syrups (Sharbat), semi-solids (Majun/Khamira), powders (Safoof), tablets, capsules, and other topical formulations ranging from raw material sorting and processing, precise traditional formulations, and batch manufacturing to final packaging.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Production Execution:
- Execute daily and weekly production schedules as assigned by the Market Demand.
- Directly supervise the manufacturing processes of various Unani dosage forms (such as Majun, Sharbat, Safoof, Tablets, and Capsules) on the shop floor.
Process & Formulation Control:
- Ensure accurate weighing, measuring, and mixing of herbal, mineral, and chemical raw materials according to standard Unani formulations.
- Monitor critical processing parameters (such as temperature, mixing time, drying, and granulation) to maintain product consistency and quality.
GMP & Hygiene Compliance:
- Ensure strict compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and standard operating procedures (SOPs) during every stage of production.
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards on the production floor to prevent contamination.
Machinery Operation & Monitoring:
- Oversee the smooth operation, routine cleaning, and basic maintenance of production machinery (e.g., grinders, mixers, pill-making machines, filling lines).
- Immediately report any mechanical faults or technical issues to the maintenance and management team.
Documentation & Record Keeping:
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate Batch Manufacturing Records (BMR), Batch Packaging Records (BPR), and daily material consumption logs.
- Keep track of material yields, input-output ratios, and production wastage.
Worker Supervision & Coordination:
- Supervise production operators, compounders, and line workers, ensuring they follow safety gear and procedural guidelines.
- Coordinate closely with the Quality Control (QC) department for in-process quality testing, sample collection, and clearance approvals.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS) degree from a recognized institution.
- More than 5 years of hands-on experience in a Unani medicine manufacturing environment.
- Computer Literacy: Mandatory Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
- Proven experience and expertise in developing and formulating traditional Unani medicines
- In-depth knowledge of herbal ingredients and traditional Unani pharmacology.
- Familiarity with Unani production machinery and maintenance.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to meet production deadlines.
Preferred Skills
- Formulation Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Unani formulations including syrups (Sharbat), semi-solids (Majun/Khamira), powders (Safoof), tablets, capsules, and other topical formulations and precise ingredient measurement techniques.
- GMP & Compliance: Strong knowledge and practical adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Documentation Skills: Proficiency in maintaining accurate Batch Manufacturing Records (BMR), Batch Packaging Record (BPR) and daily production logs.
