Responsibilities & Context:
Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests, with primary focus on Microbiology and Blood Bank services, accurately and efficiently.
Collect, receive, label, process, store, and preserve patient specimens according to established SOPs.
Perform microbiological procedures including specimen processing, culture, identification, and antimicrobial susceptibility testing as applicable.
Perform Blood Bank activities including blood grouping, cross-matching, compatibility testing, and other related procedures according to SOPs.
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments, analyzers, and related equipment.
Perform and document internal Quality Control (QC) activities and ensure compliance with laboratory quality standards.
Maintain proper laboratory records, test reports, registers, and other required documentation.
Ensure proper handling, storage, and inventory management of reagents, blood components, and laboratory consumables.
Follow laboratory safety, infection prevention and control (IPC), biomedical waste management, and other applicable guidelines.
Perform any other laboratory-related duties assigned by the Head of Department or Management.
