Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the relevant field. Good spoken and written English language skills are essential, as well as the ability to produce quality reports. Preference will be given to those with experience in UNFPA-funded projects and interested in working with marginalized people.

Job Summary: The role of the midwife is to care for pregnant women. She will ensure that essential midwifery services are available 24/7, providing total antenatal care, postnatal and newborn care, conducting lab tests and normal vaginal deliveries. She will offer counseling for adolescents. The midwife will deliver quality care to all clients in accordance with the values of LAMB, while also demonstrating leadership to the nursing staff. She will be responsible for adhering to child and vulnerable adult protection policies and for reporting any allegations, concerns, suspicions, or disclosures of abuse or neglect to the appropriate authorities, as outlined in the LAMB policies.

1.     General:

• Provide antenatal and postnatal care to pregnant women in accordance with government procedures and guidelines.

• Maintain a positive relationship with pregnant mothers.

• Provide counseling and support to pregnant mothers and their families.

• Conduct Normal Vaginal Deliveries (NVD) in accordance with government procedures and guidelines.

• Collaborate with medical staff on delivery matters and execute orders from doctors.

• Foster strong working relationships with all members of the Fistula team and volunteers. 

  2.     Holistic support and psychosocial counseling of women and adolescents for quality life:

• Assist in organizing LAMB-based income generation training, such as tailoring, poultry farming, cattle rearing, handicrafts, etc.

• Assist in organizing LAMB-based income generation training programs, such as tailoring, poultry farming, cattle rearing, and handicrafts. 

  3.     Humanitarian response:

• Conduct health camps during the disaster period for affected people.

• Assist to conduct fistula and Cervical Cancer diagnosis camp with other project teams. 

  4.     Quality control:

• Assist in maintaining the quality of project activities· 

• Monitor and supervise field-level community health workers (CHWs) in the field as needed. 

  5.     Environment·        

• Ensure that all materials used or distributed in the project are environmentally friendly. 

  6.     Networking and advocacy:

• Facilitate good communication between LAMB and local stakeholders.

• Engage with local-level government staff to maintain communication. 

  7. Integration of spiritual, emotional & social health:     

• Ensure prayer at the beginning of daily work, before the meeting, workshop, seminar and training sessions.        

• Incorporate spiritual concepts and a holistic approach in communication, service delivery, administration, and conflict resolution.       

• Uphold religious and organizational values among staff following organizational policies including safeguarding policy (child protection, adult vulnerable policy)·        

• Organize satellite clinics at the field level with government family planning staff.        

• Promote LAMB values (compassion, humble service, integrity, equal respect for all, forgiveness and committed).Be an example in implementing the project activities with the organization’s mission, vision, and values.

Tk. 39,000 - 40,000 per month gross. Other benefits include provident fund, festival allowance once per year, and critical illness and death benefit.
