Experience:

• Preferred Diploma in Midwifery.
• Accepted Diploma in Nursing Science and Midwifery.
• Registrations with the Bangladesh Nursing & Midwifery Council (BMNC).

• Age 20 to 45 years
• Only Female

Job Requirements:

• Registrations with the Bangladesh Nursing & Midwifery Council.
• Two years of experience as a midwife.
• Experience in NGO.
• Skills and qualities required as per the job nature.

Professional skills:

• Flexibility in working hours because of the emergency relief nature of GK's activities.
• Ability to face workload and good time management.
• Good communication skills to work with the partners.
• Experience working with medical data and statistics, Good IT competencies.
• Knowledge of humanitarian action and will to take part in GK and MI actions.
• Languages: (Bangla and Chittagonian compulsory).
• Good in English.

BACKGROUND OF GONOSHASTHAYA KENDRA AND THE PROJECT:

Gonoshasthaya Kendra (GK) is a National NGO. GK registered as a Public Charitable Trust in 1972 and started with two visions (a) “the fate of the poor decides fate of the country, and (b) “development of the country depends on development of women.”

GK is managing 43 health centers in 19 districts, two hospitals of 250 beds, the largest dialysis center in Bangladesh where 100 people could be treated simultaneously. GK is running one University, Medical College, Dental College, Medical Technical School, Pharmaceutical Industry and a Vocational training school providing short, long and customized courses for distressed women. GK has awarded numerous national and international awards for its work on health and disaster response.

Gonoshasthaya Kendra Bangladesh and its partner Malteser International are two humanitarian organizations in Bangladesh that have been working on emergency programs since September 2017, post-emergency and development. GK is currently implementing a project funded by the German Federal Foreign Office and Malteser International (MI) of “Improving the health and nutritional situation of refugees in Cox's Bazaar and contributing to the peaceful coexistence of refugee and host communities”. The goal of this project is to improve the health, nutrition, and psychosocial status of refugees while assisting host communities through health education in community level.

Job Description / Responsibility:

• Assigned placement in a community clinic and Upazila Health Complex.
• Support to the Government health facility.
• Coordinate and support the medical teams in the facility to ensure delivery of quality health services are in place.
• Performs clinical activities such as ante-natal consultations, delivery and after-delivery follow-up, post-natal consultations, family planning consultations and newborn care.
• Checking that medical protocols are followed and prescriptions are correct.
• Ensuring hygiene and safety rules are followed.
• Collects data, creates activity reports
• Willing to field visit as per need basis.
• Team Management activities of CHWs (Capacity building, Performance evaluation etc.)
• Support to Govt. Health personnel to Ensure FP services (Counselling, referral and proper documentation and reporting etc.)
• Ensure inclusive Community engagement .to improve overall health status of community.
• Establish and maintain good communication & and collaboration with community influencers and TBAs.
• Participate in different community group activities including verbal autopsy as required. 
• Maintain a Proper SRH referral pathway.
• Support to Upazila Health Complex as required.
