Educational Requirements:
∎ Diploma in Midwifery from an accredited academic institution; and recognized & registered by Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC).
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 2 year(s)
Job Context:
∎ The Midwife will assist female patients in all stages of emergency, childbirth and post-delivery.
∎ Reporting to: Matron
∎ Department: Health
∎ Expected Start Date: ASAP
∎ Contract length: Up to December 31, 2020.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Works as part of a multidisciplinary team of international and national staff to provide high quality patient care to pregnant women in labour.
∎ Provides direct patient care to women who came in for deliveries.
∎ Adheres to the relevant Code of conduct and ethics
∎ Participates in Continuing Professional Development (i.e. trainings, mentoring)
∎ Plans care of the patient in collaboration with the doctor.
∎ Provision of direct nursing care i.e. Administration of IV medications, wound dressing's clinical observations etc.
∎ Maintains all reusable equipment by cleaning and sterilizing appropriately.
∎ Maintain adequate and correct records of patient care including consumables & instruments utilized (if any)
∎ Ensure high quality delivery services at the facility.
∎ Works with technical support and M&E teams to collect appropriate baseline data over the life of the project
∎ Compiles and submits periodic reports
∎ Ensures adequate infection prevention and control measures are maintained at all times.
∎ Performs any other duties as may be assigned.
∎ IPC Management
∎ Ensure proper donning and doffing of PPE items.
∎ Conduct proper triage, early recognition and source control
∎ Supervise instrument processing
∎ Monitor waste management in the hospital
Additional Requirements:
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Previous experience in international organization is an advantage. Knowledge and experience with working in the field of refugee health care will be added as advantage.
∎ Effectively applies knowledge on clinical skills, bedside manner, infection control, administering medication, phlebotomy, maintenance etc.
∎ Adequate practical knowledge on handling child delivery and its complications.
∎ Works effectively with local authorities, stakeholders, and beneficiaries.
Salary:
∎ As per RI National Pay Scale Policy in Bangladesh
Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ Mobile bill, Medical allowance, Weekly 2 holidays
∎ Salary Review: Yearly
∎ Two festival bonuses in a year equivalent to one basic salary.
∎ Severance (8.33% of the monthly basic salary) goes with the monthly release of the salary.
