Responsibilities & Context:

The proposed position of MHPSS and Community Engagement Officer is critical to fulfilling the operational and to expedite the implementation of the newly awarded IRC -supported project, ensuring timely implementation, accountability, and achievement of the project’s intended outcomes.

· Develop guidelines and facilitate the formation, training, and ongoing mentorship of WASH Committees and user groups, ensuring meaningful participation and leadership of women.

· Design and deliver tailored capacity-building training packages for WASH Committees, service providers, and community stakeholders.

· Prepare, review, and update Water Safety Plans (WSPs), integrating climate risk considerations and strengthening water quality monitoring and surveillance systems.

· Plan, organize, and conduct training for Community Health Workers (CHWs), Community Health Volunteers (CHVs), and water operators on safe water treatment, O&M of water systems, and Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response (IDSR) protocols.

· Lead and support community outreach, behavior change communication (BCC), and hygiene promotion activities, including development and dissemination of IEC materials.

·  Coordinate and deliver Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) activities, including Psychological First Aid (PFA) and individual and group counselling sessions.

· Contribute to the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SoPs) and Early Warning Systems for climate-sensitive disease surveillance, including organizing and conducting simulation exercises.

·  Organize and facilitate trainings and workshops, including Training of Trainers (ToTs), WASH Committee trainings, exchange visits, and joint simulation exercises.

·  Contribute to project visibility, documentation, reporting, and knowledge dissemination, including development of IEC materials and best practice documentation.

·  Support the Project Manager in the preparation and submission of monthly progress reports and other required project documentation.
