Job Context:
∎ For 40 years, Médecins du Monde, a campaigning medical organization committed to international solidarity, has been caring for the most vulnerable populations at home and abroad. It has continued to highlight obstacles that exist in accessing health care and has secured sustainable improvements in health-for-all policies. MdM currently works in more than 35 countries across all continents where it focuses on 5 priority areas: emergency and crisis, sexual and reproductive health, harm reduction, migrants and displaced populations (health rights), health and environment.
∎ In Bangladesh, MdM has been responding in the Rohingya crises and in the host community of Cox`s Bazar since 2019. The role of MHPSS Coordinator will be to assure the technical support on MHPSS activities in our projects in Cox`s Bazar, as well as continuous monitoring and evaluation to the implementing partners with witch Medecins du Monde collaborates. MHPSS Coordinator will be responsible also in future project`s development, giving support on MHPSS technical aspects and activities.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Under the direct supervision of the Medical Coordinator and with the support of MHPSS advisor in HQ, the MHPSS Coordinator (f/m) will cover the following responsibilities:
∎ Organization, coordination and supervision of MHPSS activities
∎ Develop complete need assessments, with data analysis and final report
∎ Follow up, revise and adjust current training strategy, modules and curriculums as needed.
∎ Prepare and contextualize MHPSS policy documents based on global best practice and analysis of the local law and context for MdM Bangladesh.
∎ Offer technical support to the design of health programs integrating MHPSS with external partners, in close collaboration with GBVCo.
∎ Follow-up the implementation of MHPSS activities by different implementing partners
∎ Ensure the quality of activities through a follow-up and provide needed technical support to assure the needed activities 'quality.
∎ Actively participate to coordination efforts with MHPSS actors
∎ Provide guidance to the relevant actors on definition of the Information/Education/Communication strategy and mediums (radio, press, posters, leaflets...)
∎ Support in preparing and sharing cultural adapted MHPSS activities for different activities in close collaboration with implementing partners.
∎ Continuous follow up on service providers and actors involved on the field in MHPSS services
∎ Sharing of information and best practices within the MHPSS sub-sector, MHPSS program implementation, team management, confidentiality management and other related issues;
∎ Ensure the capitalization of MdM MHPSS component implementation.
∎ MHPSS technical support on Dhaka project strategy, if required by the general coordinator.
∎ Capacity building / training
∎ Identify the capacity building needs of INGO and NNGO partner's teams related to MHPSS and organize the relevant trainings.
∎ Organize and facilitate trainings on MHPSS, in line with MdM training materials available and MHPSS sub-sector
∎ Capacity building and on the job training for the MdM support program officer, under the direct responsibility of GBV and MHPSS Coordinator.
∎ Advocacy
∎ Working together with MdM coordination, partners and other actors, take part in advocacy activities.
∎ Reporting, information management, coordination / representation and team management
∎ Increase and enhance program monitoring and evaluation, and determining impact, wherever possible, including the use of standard indicators and monitools.
∎ Participate to internal MDM meetings
∎ Participate to the MHPSS sectors meetings and actively contribute to coordination efforts.
∎ If needed, participate to meetings with the State Ministry of Health or other stakeholders involved in MHPSS
∎ Contribute to MdM monthly Sitrep.
∎ Contribute to the preparation of new proposals or reports to donors.
∎ Direct management of the support program officer, with the support of MHPSS Coordinator
∎ This list of activities is not exhaustive and may change depending on the situation. Flexibility is required.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Demonstrated 3 years professional experience in humanitarian settings, in program related to MHPSS
∎ Experience with MHPSS management, programming and implementation is mandatory.
∎ Excellent knowledge in training implementation (peer to peer and collective session), especially in MHPSS technical competences and skills.
∎ Excellent knowledge of IASC, WHO, UNHCR, UNICEF, IOM , IFRC MHPSS Guidelines
∎ Good knowledge of WHO ethical data sharing guidelines
∎ Previous and demonstrable experience with MdM will be an asset
∎ Skills and qualities required
∎ Ability to uphold MdM's commitment for the mainstreaming of MHPSS approach
∎ Ability to take initiative, work independently and foster a team environment.
∎ Strong organizational, oral and written communication and coordination skills.
∎ Strong project design and proposal development skills and developing management and MEAL tools
∎ Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
∎ Flexibility and adaptability to the context
∎ Good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel, Word and Powerpoint, as well as internet advanced research and professional emails.
∎ Languages
∎ English - fluent, Bangla - fluent
∎ Understanding of Rohingya language is an asset
