Job Context:
∎ Main responsibility: To plan and implement supply and technical logistics activities for Bangladesh mission. To comply with MdM standards, protocols and procedures in order to facilitate the establishment of the Bangladesh mission and project.
∎ For more than 40 years, Médecins du Monde (MdM), a campaigning medical organization committed to international solidarity, has been caring for the most vulnerable populations at home and abroad. It has continued to highlight obstacles that exist in accessing health care and has secured sustainable improvements in health-for-all policies. Those working for this independent organization do not solely dispense care and treatment but condemn violations of human dignity and rights and fight to improve matters for populations living in precarious situations. MdM France currently works in 35 countries across all continents where it focuses on 5 priority thematic areas: caring for the health of migrants and displaced persons, promoting sexual and reproductive health, combating HIV and reducing the harm and risks associated with drug use, crises and conflicts and, health and Environment.
∎ MdM France has launched a quick assessment in Bangladesh in December 2016 to explore the humanitarian situation in the country. MdM validated then a gradual intervention in Bangladesh and the MdM mission in Bangladesh opened in February 2017. From August 2017, a massive wave of population fleeing violence in the Rakhine state in Myanmar crossed the border to find refuge in Cox’s Bazar district in Bangladesh. This unprecedented situation created an emergency humanitarian situation.
∎ After nearly 3 years of emergency activities in Cox’s bazar, MdM has now entered in a new phase and aims at strengthening its response at qualitative level and to become a recognized actor on Gender Based Violence (GBV) and Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) through technical support to all non-governmental organizations (national and international) implementing healthcare services in refugee camps, for both host communities and displaced population.
∎ In coordination with relevant national and local authorities, institutional donors and local partners, MdM now wishes to strengthen and develop its medical strategy, focusing on MHPSS and GBV as part of the primary health care Furthermore a new project on related components will start in Dhaka slums to work especially with host community. All these elements, jointly with a good financing strategy, will have the objective to stabilize and secure the mission, to assure our presence in the country, fulfilling with our projects’ objectives.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES-
∎ Under the direct supervision of the General Coordinator (GenCo) and in close collaboration with the support departments at the HQ and in constant communication with the Administrator and the Activity Manager of the mission, the Logistic coordinator will cover the following responsibilities:
∎ Application and monitoring of the purchasing plan of Bangladesh mission
∎ Application and monitoring mission procurement procedures and archiving reports
∎ Keeping and updating indicators for logistical activities
∎ Monitoring of goods management contracts and any contracts related to the relevant activities
∎ Supervision and management of the transport of goods to the mission
∎ Supervision and management of the transport of people to the mission: monitor the vehicle fleet,
∎ supervise maintenance, monitor consumption
∎ Monitoring and update the mission inventory and stock
∎ Monitoring and implementing the mission’s technical activities and logistics (construct, update and
∎ supply of medical and non-medical materials, water and sanitation, equipment / installations and
∎ infrastructures, etc.)
∎ Training of local field teams and partners and provide technical support for all the mission’s logistical and technical support issues
∎ Supervision and/or carrying out the installation and maintenance of operating office areas and
∎ accommodation areas Updating and monitoring IT material and maintenance (computers, software, back-ups, etc.) and
∎ communication equipment
∎ Logistical reporting
∎ Carrying out daily monitoring of compliance with safety and alert regulations
∎ Management-
∎ Management of the logistic team (information, setting objectives, monitoring activities, managing leave, recruitment, discipline, security, training, skills management)
∎ Planning and monitoring activities and implement corrective action where necessary
∎ Advise, arbitration, and supporting the measures to be taken in the event of difficulties, malfunctions
∎ and/or incidents
∎ This list of activities is not exhaustive and may change depending on the project needs situation. Flexibility from the Financial and Administrative Coordinator is required

Additional Requirements:
∎ Experience of 3 years minimum as Logistician for NGOs
∎ Knowledge of procurement procedures
∎ Good use Excel and the Microsoft Office Pack
∎ Negotiate with suppliers
∎ Create and develop a network of logistical actors
∎ Identify and analyse a market
∎ Monitor and analyse an inventory and a stock
∎ Adapt schedules according to priorities and unforeseen events
∎ Work in a team
∎ Communicate (writing and speaking) in a foreign language
∎ Create and lead a logistical team
∎ Languages:
∎ English – fluent, Bangla – fluent
