Job Context:
∎ For 40 years, Médecins du Monde, a campaigning medical organization committed to international solidarity, has been caring for the most vulnerable populations at home and abroad. It has continued to highlight obstacles that exist in accessing health care and has secured sustainable improvements in health-for-all policies. MdM currently works in more than 35 countries across all continents where it focuses on 5 priority areas: emergency and crisis, sexual and reproductive health, harm reduction, migrants and displaced populations (health rights), health and environment.
∎ In Bangladesh, MdM has been responding in the Rohingya crises and in the host community of Cox`s Bazar since 2019. The GBV Coordinator`s duties include: building and sustaining partnerships, strategic planning, capacity development, advocacy, and information management, reporting and monitoring. S/he will be responsible for the development of future projects, including co-writing, assessments, implementation and other related steps. The GBV coordination position is comprehensive to carry out Sexual and Reproductive Health responsibilities in planning, supervision and good implementation surveillance by partner organization, with the active support and guidance of Medical Coordinator.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Under the direct supervision of the Medical Coordinator and the support of GBV advisor in HQ, the GBV Coordinator (f/m) will cover the following responsibilities:
∎ Organization, coordination and supervision of GBV activities
∎ Assessments. Develop all related GBV and SRH sections in need assessments, supervise solid preparation and implementation and data compilation by partners, and elaborate its analysis and final report with recommendations
∎ Policies. Prepare, adapt and contextualize GBV policy documents based on global best practices and analysis of the local law and context for MdM Bangladesh for all necessary project documents and other mission requirements.
∎ Support Health partners in mainstreaming and implementing GBV and SRH quality standards across services, and staff preparedness in gender and survivor-center approach and good practices
∎ Provide technical support to all partners (non PHC based) to mainstream an integrated approach (GBV/SRH and MHPSS) across all projects (non PHC based) in close collaboration with the MHPSS Coordinator
∎ Ensure the quality of activities through a monitool (indicator-based) and follow-up monthly plan and provide ongoing technical support to ensure reach of all activities and pre-defined quality targets.
∎ Actively participate to coordination efforts with GBV actors (ex: GBV sub sector).
∎ Provide guidance to the relevant actors on definition of the Information/Education/Communication strategy and mediums (radio, press, posters, leaflets...)
∎ Prepare and train implementing partners on all Activity Description Forms (ADF) and co-develop others in close collaboration with GBV and SRH referents and MHPSS coordinator
∎ Continuous follow up on service providers and actors involved on the field in GBV prevention and GBV services implementation.
∎ Sharing of information and best practices within the GBV sub-sector, GBV program implementation, team management, confidentiality management and other related issues;
∎ Ensure partner´s reporting to the GBVIMS SS timely and to other applicable sectors under the GBV/ SRH responsibility, and monitor data consistency with monthly reports statistics on case management and referral at PHC and CRC levels
∎ Ensure the capitalization of MdM GBV component implementation.
∎ GBV technical support on Dhaka project strategy, if required by the general coordinator.
∎ Capacity building / training
∎ Assess the capacity building needs of the Project Partners and teams related to the GBV component (Gender, GBV, case management and PSEA) with partner organizations and develop adapted training plans for medical and non-medical staff, Community Protection Groups and volunteers;
∎ Assess the capacity building needs of Community Health Workers (CHW) or midwives with Health partner organization to develop the SRH component and sensitization, following ADF themes and preventive primary health care priorities.
∎ Organize and facilitate trainings on the prevention, identification, response to GBV, in line with MdM training materials available and GBV sub-sector
∎ Follow up, revise and adjust current training strategy, modules and curriculums as needed.
∎ Capacity building and on the job training for the MdM support program officer, under the direct responsibility of GBV and MHPSS Coordinator.
∎ Advocacy
∎ Working together with MdM coordination, partners and other actors, take part in advocacy activities.
∎ Support the capacity building and actions of Women´s Rights grassroots and rights-orientated organizations for action and advocacy orientated Protection/GBV, Health and critical needs grievances
∎ Reporting, information management, coordination / representation and team management
∎ Increase and enhance program monitoring and evaluation, and determining impact, wherever possible, including the use of standard indicators and monitools.
∎ Set up and ensure a rapid GBV incident report/intake/ referral system is in place in all project facilities following the necessary S/GBV protocol (assessment, action-coordination, referral/accompaniment and reporting...), reporting tools and assistance follow up
∎ Participate to internal MDM´s and partners meetings (technical, steering committees, coordination of partners..)
∎ Participate in the SRH and GBV working groups and ad-hoc meetings and actively contribute to GBV data sharing and any meaningful activities achievements, assessment´s results that contribute to rise MdM visibility, collective advocacy and coordination efforts.
∎ If needed, participate to meetings with the State Ministry of Health, Ministry of Women and Children affairs and other stakeholders involved in the realm of GBV, Protection or Health.
∎ Contribute to MdM monthly Sitrep.
∎ Contribute to the preparation of new proposals or reports to donors.
∎ Direct management of the support program officer, with the support of MHPSS Coordinator
∎ This list of activities is not exhaustive and may change depending on the project needs situation. Flexibility from GBV-SRH coordinator is required

Additional Requirements:
∎ Languages:
∎ English - fluent, Bangla - fluent
∎ Understanding of Rohingya language is an asset
∎ Professional experience
∎ Demonstrated at least 3 years professional experience in the implementation of programs related to GBV, SRH, child protection or similar
∎ Demonstrated experience in upholding the capacity of partner organizations -trainings, supervision and monitoring- is a must
∎ Experience with GBV case management, programming and implementation is mandatory.
∎ Experience in leading coordination of teams or projects is an asset
∎ Excellent knowledge in training implementation (peer to peer and collective session), especially on GBV, SRH and PSEA.
∎ Excellent knowledge of IASC GBV Guidelines and ability to implement GBV mainstreaming in accordance with the guidelines
∎ Good knowledge of protocols in GBV standards and response at PHC level as well as the (SRH) MISP delivery at PHC level
∎ Good knowledge of WHO ethical data sharing guidelines
∎ Previous and demonstrable experience with MdM will be an asset
∎ Skills and qualities required
∎ Strong commitment to MdM´s humanitarian values and policies, adherence and mainstreaming GBV principles, inclusiveness of Human Rights and proactive women and girl's empowerment
∎ Ability to uphold MdM's commitment for the response to GBV, other protection issues and mobilize teams around gender and protection rights violation
∎ Ability to take initiatives, anticipate, work independently and foster an inspiring, positive team environment.
∎ Strong organizational, oral and written communication and coordination skills.
∎ Strong project design and proposal development skills and developing management and MEAL tools
∎ Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
∎ Flexibility and adaptability to the project changing situation
∎ Good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel, Word and Powerpoint, as well as internet advanced research and professional emails' skills.
