Job Context:
∎ The candidate will ensure that the proper waste disposal procedures are being followed by the facility staff. This includes identifying waste materials, training others on the proper safety guidelines to follow, and conducting risk assessments on hazardous materials. Waste management officer typically evaluate and coordinate storage and handling of hazardous waste. They might lead efforts to clean up contaminated soil or water. They might also have to compile reports of safety performance for their departments and present them to higher level management.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Prevent health-care waste from causing environmental pollution or adverse effects on human health.
∎ Ensure that health-care waste is adequately segregated and safely packed, especially in the case of sharps which should be packed in puncture-proof containers.
∎ Ensure that bags or containers of health-care waste are handled only by those officially licensed to transport and/or dispose of such waste.
∎ Ensure that a transfer note describing the waste is handed to the recipient when waste is transferred.
∎ Check for proof that the driver of the collection vehicle is aware of the procedures governing transport of hazardous goods. Such proof shall include but not limited to an authorization letter or a certificate indicating form of training in transportation of health care waste.
∎ If on-site treatment is impossible or uneconomical, cooled storage facilities should be provided and there should be a regular collection by a contractor who has suitable incineration facilities.
∎ When an injection is carried out at a patient's home, the practitioner is responsible for disposing of syringes, needles, and all other items used including incontinence pads and swabs.

∎ One year of experience working in a similar position.
∎ Able to maintain records and manage data collection from the field.
∎ Good communication skills in local and Rohingya dialects.
∎ Must be able to read and write clearly.
Salary:
∎ As per RI National Pay Scale Policy in Bangladesh

∎ Salary Review: Yearly
∎ Two festival bonuses in a year equivalent to one basic salary.
∎ Severance (8.33% of the monthly basic salary) goes with the monthly release of the salary.
