Job Context:
∎ Save the Children invites applications for the above-mentioned position under Direct Implementation (DI) of HIV/AIDS Program. As part of the national HIV and AIDS response in Bangladesh, Save the Children has been taking a leading role and managed five HIV grants of the Global Fund since 2004. The current grant is supporting 9,000 People who inject drugs (PWID), 18,500 Female sex workers (FSW) and community based support for People Living with HIV and AIDS in 16 districts.

∎ Contract length: Contractual up to November 2020
∎ Job Location: Central Drug Treatment (CTC), Rajshahi and Mohonaogor Hospital/DIC, Dhaka.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ ‘Oral Substitution Therapy (OST)’ with Methadone and ‘Treatment, Care and Support (TCS)’ including ART are the important components of current PWID intervention.
∎ Medical Officer - OST and TCS will be primarily responsible for administrative and program implementation of both HIV positive and HIV negative PWID regarding NSP, OST, ART, OI and others co-infection management at Rajshahi Central Drug Treatment (CTC) and Mohonaogor Hospital/ DIC at Dhaka.
∎ S/he will be responsible for assessment, diagnosis and treatment of both HIV positive and HIV negative PWID regarding clinical services from OST center.
∎ S/he will supervise the clinical services and provide necessary technical assistance to other designated DICs for ensuring quality services to PWID.
∎ As part of capacity building initiatives, s/he will facilitate clinical meetings at a regular interval at OST center and facilitate others training sessions.
∎ S/he will also conduct on-the-job sessions for the CDIC team members.
∎ S/he will also prepare and submit periodic progress reports on OST, ART and other clinical services.
Additional Requirements:
∎ One-year experience on clinical services. Good understanding and have a working experiences with key population/Oral Substitution Therapy (OST)/ ‘Treatment, Care and Support (TCS)’ is an advantage.
∎ Candidates having experience of working in HIV/AIDS and high-risk population (especially PWID and FSW) will get preference.
∎ Excellent coordination skills to establish efficient working relations and develop partnership with ASP/Government Agencies, NGOs/SRs, GoB Health facilities, Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) and relevant stakeholders
∎ Excellent written and verbal communication skills both in English and Bangla.
