Job Context:
∎ CODEC is an inheritor of DANIDA Bangladesh derived from couple of project intervention explicitly DANIDA Boat Building Project and Boat Rental Scheme. CODEC has been working as a people centered development organization since 1985.
∎ Community Development Centre (CODEC) invites application for the position of “Material Development Specialist” from the potential Bangladeshi nationals for implementing CODEC ESHO SHIKHI (“Come and Learn”) Project. The Materials Development Specialist will develop community martials that will enhance capacity of key stakeholders to promote behavior change for education support and strengthening community resilience to sustain learning during school closures.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Development of materials for community engagement that promotes education support.
∎ Development of materials to promote early grade reading.
∎ Development of materials for community engagement that strengthens resilience of communities to sustain learning during school closures.
∎ Conduct need based Focus Group Discussions, meetings, training on the developed materials with different stakeholders.
∎ Field-test materials and capture authentic feedback and utilize that for improving the quality of the materials.
∎ Support Technical persons of the project in implementing the developed materials to different level of teachers, students and facilitators of the field.
∎ Plan and execute tool for collecting feedback on the on the materials from the beginner level and revise materials accordingly.
∎ Produce Teachers guideline to support facilitators and teachers to deliver quality lessons on different subjects in the schools.
∎ Designs new course offerings and materials guideline that is needed as per the course.
∎ Provides instructional strategies and various tools to aid in the instructional process.
∎ Produce all kinds of student materials for students for the whole year of the project.
∎ Use different research and teaching techniques to form education programs that help students of all ages obtain the best education.
∎ Provide strategic and technical insight to prioritize capacity building of staffs and teachers and ensure their participation in future education and activities.
∎ Contextualize the teaching and learning materials that have been informed and guided by the Community.
∎ Evaluate teaching methods that already exist and also to look at things like the level of technology, the type of teaching, the quality of textbooks, and the way different subjects are handled.
∎ Coordinate with field team and MoPME to demonstrate material effectiveness in the community.
∎ Build and strengthen relationships with other organizational experts to ensure harmonized development of teaching and learning materials.
∎ Participate and contribute as needed in different material development workshop organized by Education Sector or donor/technical support partners.
∎ Perform any other duties as assigned by the higher authority as well as technical persons of Winrock International.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 35 to 45 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ This position is based in Dhaka with field visits as and when required. Job location may be changed as per project's design.
∎ Minimum 2 to 3 years of work experience in developing education materials preferably related to primary and secondary levels.
∎ Clear knowledge of educational system and curriculum, pedagogical concept and clear perception of training related aspects.
∎ Facilitation skill as a trainer, report writing and research conduction skill including tools development and data analysis.
∎ Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Bengali required.
∎ Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Editor and PowerPoint.
Salary: Tk. 125000 (Monthly)
