∎ Language: Fluency in Japanese and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both.
∎ Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of knit garment manufacturing processes and international quality standards (e.g., ISO, AQL).
∎ Communication & Negotiation: Excellent negotiation, client relationship management, and presentation abilities.
∎ Leadership: Proven leadership and team management skills, with experience guiding cross-functional teams or projects.
∎ Analytical Skills: Sharp analytical and problem-solving mindset, capable of handling multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
∎ Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in MS Office and relevant ERP/merchandising software tools.
∎ Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) certification at N1 or N2 level.
∎ Professional certification in Quality Management (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO 9001) or similar credential.
∎ Experience working closely with Japanese clients or within a Japanese business culture.

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Lead and manage the end-to-end merchandising process for knit garment products, from product development and sampling to final shipment.
∎ Coordinate closely with buyers (including Japanese clients), suppliers, and production teams to ensure clear communication and timely, cost-effective execution of orders.
∎ Monitor production schedules and perform rigorous follow-ups to ensure all orders meet their deadlines and quality benchmarks.
∎ Collaborate with cross-functional departments (design, production, quality control) to maintain high product quality and resolve any issues promptly.
∎ Negotiate with suppliers and vendors on materials, pricing, and terms to achieve cost savings while maintaining quality standards.
∎ Analyze market trends and customer feedback to recommend new product ideas, improvements, or strategic adjustments in the merchandising plan.
∎ Prepare regular reports on order status, inventory levels, and sales performance for senior management, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
∎ Mentor and develop junior merchandising staff, fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous learning within the department.
