The Electrical & Fire Safety Manager will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all electrical systems, fire detection systems, and related safety infrastructure in the factory. The role will oversee maintenance, compliance with RSC (national and international safety standards) and continuous improvement of fire safety and electrical reliability to protect people, property, and production.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Safety & Maintenance
Supervise installation, inspection, operation, and maintenance of all electrical equipment and systems (HT/LT panels, generators, substation, UPS, lighting, etc.).
Monitor electrical load distribution to prevent hazards and downtime.
Implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for uninterrupted production.
Ensure energy-efficient practices and reduction of electrical losses.
Maintain records of electrical inspections, testing, and repairs.
Ensure all fire safety standards maintain as per RSC protocol
Fire Safety Management
Ensure compliance with Bangladesh National Building Code (BNBC), RSC, Fire Prevention Act, NFPA standards, and buyer requirements.
Develop, implement, and monitor fire safety programs and evacuation procedures.
Oversee inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire detection, alarm, sprinkler, hydrant, and extinguisher systems.
Conduct regular fire drills, emergency response training, and awareness programs for employees.
Liaise with Fire Service & Civil Defence (FSCD) and relevant authorities for certifications, audits, and inspections.
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with Accord, Alliance, RSC (Ready-Made Garments Sustainability Council), and buyer safety protocols.
Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits of electrical and fire systems.
Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective measures.
Maintain documentation for compliance and buyer audits.
