  • Hands-on maintenance experience in the Garment/RMG industry, with a minimum of 10 years managing specialized Outerwear / Heavy Jacket production machinery.

  • Technical Expertise: In-depth, practical knowledge of automated sewing machines, seam-sealing, seam-taping, down-injection, pocket welting, and bonding equipment.

  • Skills: Strong leadership, root-cause analysis, budget planning, vendor management, and knowledge of safety/compliance audits.



Responsibilities & Context:

UTAH Fashions Ltd,. a renowned 100% export-oriented knit composite company of the Bangladesh is looking for an experienced, dynamic and highly potential professional as Manager / Senior Manager - Maintenance (Activewear) for the Garments Division located at Gazipur.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily preventive, corrective, and emergency breakdown maintenance across all activewear production lines and factory utility systems.

  • Troubleshoot and maintain specialized activewear machinery, including flatlock (4-needle 6-thread), seam-sealing, ultrasonic bonding, and hot-press machines.

  • Manage, train, and mentor the activewear maintenance team to ensure fast response times and technical skill development.

  • Execute a strict Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedule customized for high-speed knit and activewear machinery to prevent micro-stoppages.

  • Manage inventory levels for critical spare parts, specialized attachments, metering devices, and electronic components to avoid line downtime.

  • Work closely with production and quality teams to fine-tune machine tension, feeding devices, and press parameters for delicate, high-stretch fabrics.

  • Lead machinery layout planning, line setting, installation, and commissioning for new activewear and sportswear production lines.

  • Perform root-cause analysis on machine failures and implement continuous improvements to maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

  • Ensure maintenance operations strictly comply with occupational health and safety regulations, environmental guidelines, and buyer audit requirements.

  • Maintain precise calibration and pneumatic pressure standards for heat-transfer presses, laser cutters, and elastic-attaching equipment.

  • Manage vendor relations, evaluate equipment quotes, and oversee installation/servicing contracts with machinery suppliers.

  • Standardize and enforce SOPs for all mechanical, electrical, and electronic troubleshooting work on the floor.

  • Drive compressed air and energy conservation initiatives across the activewear sewing and bonding units.

  • Track maintenance KPIs, control operating expenditure, and present periodic performance reports to executive leadership.
