Job Responsibilities:
∎ Develop and implement an organizational business development and fundraising strategy, processes, and plan.
∎ Strengthen the Dnet's business development and marketing processes, systems and procedures including: the marketing and contacts database; knowledge database and management; CV capture and database management;
∎ Maintain a cycle of business development activities including the identification and cultivation of potential clients, market research, preparing marketing strategies and plans, marketing visits, presentations, attendance at conferences and seminars, delivering and publishing papers and generally maintaining for the Dnet a high profile presence in the market.
∎ Research, analyze and maintain regular register of donor calls for funding applications including tenders, pre-qualification documents, expressions of interest(EOI) and requests for proposals(RFP).
∎ Advise on potential partnerships with other organizations and agencies and identify specific opportunities: Identify and pursue funding opportunities for Dnet - either as a lead agency or subcontractor - among major national or international NGOs working in Bangladesh.
∎ Cultivate and manage relationships with existing and potential key clients, strategic partner firms, NGOs and independent consultants.
∎ Conduct partner and competitor analysis, negotiate teaming agreements, and lead or participate directly in large value bids developed by consortia.
∎ Project design and document production: Lead the development and writing of successful funding proposals and budgets as agreed with the Senior Management Teams. This will involve leading or supporting proposal development teams across the organization and, where relevant, using outsourced consultancy services. This includes organizing pre-proposal strategy sessions (e.g. idea generation, developing win themes, and partnering assessments etc); working with technical, management and finance leads on strategy; and ensuring that logframes, budgets and narrative text are developed, reviewed and edited per donor requirements.
∎ Provide guidance and support to development of proactive concepts, converting ideas into sellable proposals and actively participate in identifying sources of support for such proposals.
∎ Coordinating efforts between Dnet and partner organizations: Lead the development of proposals and budgets submitted in partnership with other organizations where Dnet is either the primary applicant or a sub-contractor. Negotiate favorable and manageable role in partnership proposals.
∎ Management of information: Direct the development and maintenance of information required for proposal development including updating capability statements, technical areas of expertise, country programme and/or project write-ups, development of graphics and presentations etc.
∎ Organize and implement a client and partner care program including: client satisfaction/feedback surveys, client and partner development activities, and client and partner events.
∎ Conduct reviews of projects, ensuring that any lessons learnt are appropriately disseminated and acted upon.
∎ Work closely with the Communications team, Tech team, and Program team to produce high quality focused marketing materials and communications to promote Dnet in our markets.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Ability to support and undertake desk research works with minimal supervision is expected;
∎ Experience in writing herself (or as a team member) project concept notes, proposals, reports etc. is mandatory;
∎ Knowledge of donor compliance, procurement and grant management, especially EC and USAID, DFID/FCDO, and other major bilateral, multilateral donors or foundations. Experience in developing partnerships with government and non-government agencies is expected;
∎ Thematic understanding and experience on rights/ governance/ health/ education/ youth/ ICT for development will be useful;
∎ Proven ability to conceptualize, innovate, plan and execute ideas, as well as to impart knowledge and teach skills;
∎ Good analytical, negotiating, communication and advocacy skills.
∎ An effective and energetic team player, with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment;
∎ Strong self-motivation and innovative skills, with capacity to work independently and meet deadlines;
