Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Manager - Nutrition will be responsible for providing guidance and technical backstopping in health education, nutrition and social behavioural change communication to camp and host community teams to ensure caregivers and households have knowledge about optimum nutrition practices.
∎ S/he will also provide capacity building support to partner staffs to train health care providers to educate patients on what constitutes a nutritionally balanced diet, provide information for homestead food production.
∎ The Manager will carry out district and sub-district level advocacy to increase the understanding of government stakeholders and capacity for delivery of nutrition sensitive services, and strengthen service provision in the malnutrition treatment centres through the provision of technical advisory services.
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 6 years' experience in nutrition, communication or food security development programmes, with developing and/or revising nutrition, health or behaviour change training materials in English and Bengali
∎ Experience in producing SBCC/nutrition materials and providing training in essential nutrition and hygiene actions will be an advantage.
∎ Excellent facilitator with experience in providing technical training and guidance in nutrition education and behaviour change programmes.
∎ Demonstrated experience in incorporating counselling, behaviour change theory and adult learning principles into training curricula.
∎ Experience with formative/qualitative and quantitative research and studies in health and nutrition.
∎ Experience liaising with government health and family planning departments and institutions in implementing nutrition programmes.
∎ Excellent written communications skills, including report writing
∎ Proficiency in MS Office, especially in power point and excel
∎ Motivated, committed, responsible, able to work independently with limited direct supervision.
