Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Manager - Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) will have overall management responsibility for the disaster risk reduction interventions of the project.
∎ In this capacity, s/he will directly oversee planning, implementation, and monitoring of DRR project activities and also support fellow project directors and coordinators of partner NGOs and fellow staff of Save the Children for successful implementation.
∎ S/he will manage the overall component budget and compile progress reports for submission to donor.
∎ The Manager will contribute actively to the implementation of project as well to support other sectoral areas and keep rapport with local government and community members.
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 6 years' experience in community development, capacity building, with 3-4 years specific experience in disaster risk reduction
∎ Sound knowledge on importance of disaster risk and vulnerability factors affecting Bangladesh generally
∎ Solid understanding on industry 'best practices' in disaster risk reduction and emergency preparedness
∎ Excellent written communications skills, including report writing
∎ Financial/budget management skills
∎ Proficiency in MS Office, especially in power point and excel
∎ Excellent representational skills
∎ Motivated, committed, responsible, able to work independently with limited direct supervision.
∎ Training/capacity building skills
