Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field from a recognized university.
5–6 years of experience in Agri-finance, rural credit, financial operations, or a similar field. Minimum 2 years in a managerial position.
Expertise in data analysis, reporting, and visualization (Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
Strong understanding of credit management, risk assessment, and compliance documentation.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Experience in managing field operations and working with rural stakeholders is highly preferred.
Role Summary
The Manager – Credit, Operations, and Compliance will be responsible for overseeing the entire process of farmer financing at WeGro, with a focus on ensuring operational efficiency, compliance, and effective risk management. This role is HQ-based with traveling requirement to field. The individual will primarily focus on monitoring and analyzing the credit and loan operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing execution management assistance to the Head of Operations. The role demands strong analytical skills, effective compliance management, and a hands-on approach to driving end-to-end operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Credit and Collection Management
Supervise and monitor the disbursement of loans to farmers, ensuring strict adherence to approved policies and procedures, in close collaboration with the input disbursement team.
Track loan repayment progress, developing strategies for timely collection, and proactively addressing any risks related to defaults, leveraging insights from the field and output trading team to align with market conditions.
Ensure seamless coordination between the farmer buy-back process and loan repayments to optimize recovery efforts, utilizing cross-team collaboration for efficient execution.
Compliance and Documentation Oversight
Develop and implement comprehensive SOPs to enforce compliance standards for farmer onboarding, documentation, and agreement signing. These SOPs will ensure that all processes meet regulatory, legal, and organizational standards, while promoting consistency and operational efficiency across teams.
Oversee the collection, verification, and secure archiving of all required documentation at each stage of the farmer financing process. Work closely with field operations, legal, and compliance teams to ensure that documentation is complete, accurate, and meets both internal guidelines and external regulatory requirements.
Conduct regular field audits to assess the accuracy and completeness of documentation and compliance with agreed procedures. Identify any discrepancies or gaps, implement corrective actions, and provide feedback and training to field teams to improve compliance adherence in future cycles.
Operational Analysis and Execution Management
Conduct in-depth analysis of data, working with the field, input disbursement and output trading teams to identify opportunities for improving efficiency and adjusting strategies accordingly.
Develop, maintain, and present visual dashboards and performance reports using tools like Excel, Power BI, or Tableau, providing key insights to support informed decision-making and efficient resource allocation.
Prepare detailed reports for the Head of Operations, highlighting critical performance metrics, emerging risks, and compliance issues, ensuring timely and actionable insights for continuous operational enhancement.
Support the development of field capacity by training team members on compliance protocols, documentation standards, and best operational practices, empowering them to execute effectively and maintain high levels of accountability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously improve operational practices and compliance standards, while ensuring timely updates to SOPs in response to evolving regulations or operational challenges.
