Job Purpose:
The main purpose of this job is to support trained entrepreneurs in the agriculture sector so they can run and grow their businesses in a sustainable way. The role helps them improve business skills, get market access (both direct and online), build financial connections, follow legal rules, and create strong links within the agricultural value chain.
Requirements:
Minimum Masters degree in Agribusiness/Agricultural Marketing/Agricultural Economics/ Business Studies/Business Administration/Economics/Development Economics or relevant subjects;
Relevant experience in Agricultural Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Agribusiness Development, or similar fields in the private sector and working or supporting entrepreneurship development;
Minimum working experience is 05 (Five) years in Agrofood Processing, Agro-inputs, Agro machinery, Non-Agrofood Processing, and Agro-tourism etc.;
Experience working with entrepreneurs, farmers, agribusinesses, cooperatives, and other stakeholders in the agricultural value chain.
Ability to manage data and prepare reports, presentations, and marketing materials.
Strong ability of networking and relationship-building skills with entrepreneurs, farmers, agribusinesses, government officials, Private Sector and NGOs.
Analytical abilities to assess market conditions, financial data, and business operations.
Ability to identify problems and develop effective solutions within the context of agribusiness and agricultural market system.
Understand the digital marketing and e-commerce platforms can be advantageous.
Job responsibilities:
To engage with entrepreneurs and provide mentorship and support services to the trained entrepreneurs for ensuring sustainability and growing their business.
To provide business guidance to enhance entrepreneurial skills and business operations of the trained entrepreneurs.
To organize program related relevant events, meetings, and platforms to share experiences, best practices, and innovations.
To assist entrepreneurs in legal registration, compliance, and adherence to industry standards.
To facilitate the entrepreneurs for their transition from training to sustainable business operations.
To support the entrepreneurs in ensuring market access, financial linkages, and operational compliance.
To facilitate and ensure direct and online based market access for agricultural commodities of the entrepreneurs via marketing platform/E-commerce via mobile devices.
To enhance the entrepreneurial ecosystem within the agricultural and rural sectors;
To provide support to the entrepreneurs in preparing business plan.
To support entrepreneurs in scaling their businesses, including market linkage for local and international market (export market).
To collect and manage database of the supported entrepreneurs and report accordingly.
Government Project-Based Position under a national development initiative.
Initial contract duration of 24 months, with possibility of extension based on project performance.
