Responsibilities & Context:

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and access points, to ensure high availability, performance, and security of internet services.

  • Configure and optimize network devices and protocols such as BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, and QoS to support scalable and reliable internet connectivity for residential and business customers.

  • Monitor network traffic, bandwidth utilization, and performance metrics using network management tools such as SNMP, NetFlow, and packet analyzers, proactively identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime and service disruptions.

  • Implement and enforce network security policies, access controls, and firewall rules to protect against cyber threats, unauthorized access, and malicious activities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Perform routine maintenance, software upgrades, and patch management on network devices to address security vulnerabilities, enhance performance, and ensure compatibility with new technologies and services.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, customer support, and sales to design, deploy, and troubleshoot network solutions tailored to customer requirements and business needs.

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to internal teams and external customers, resolving network-related issues, service outages, and performance degradation in a timely manner.

  • Conduct network capacity planning, forecasting, and growth analysis to anticipate future bandwidth requirements and infrastructure upgrades, ensuring scalability and cost-effectiveness of network resources.
