Title: DevOps Engineer
Company Name: Ultra Group
Vacancy: --
Age: At least 25 years
Job Location: Anywhere in Bangladesh
Salary: Tk. 40000 - 80000 (Monthly)
Experience:
Remote | Immediate Start | Initial One-Month Contract
We need a proactive, hands-on DevOps engineer to take a small but messy infrastructure estate and turn it into a clean, secure and easy-to-manage production platform.
This is not an audit-only or advisory role.
You will own the full cycle:
Review → Protect → Clean Up → Standardise → Deploy → Test → Document → Handover
The environment includes approximately:
9 Linux VPS servers
websites, applications, APIs and services
Docker, Docker Compose and Coolify
PostgreSQL, Redis and BullMQ
Next.js, Node.js, Strapi and PWAs
Cloudflare DNS, SSL, WAF and R2
GitHub and self-hosted Gitea
Several WordPress and cPanel environments
A local Docker and AI development machine
Most applications are already built or substantially complete. The priority is to clean up the estate, protect what is working and establish a reliable company-controlled deployment process.
The first task will be to work with our WordPress team to tidy, secure and redeploy the existing cPanel and WordPress estate.
This includes:
mapping all WordPress sites, domains, databases and hosting accounts;
confirming backups before changes;
reviewing PHP versions, SSL, plugins, themes and security;
cleaning up abandoned or duplicated installations;
resolving broken routing, database or deployment issues;
redeploying the agreed WordPress sites cleanly;
confirming each site is live, backed up and manageable;
documenting the completed WordPress and cPanel setup.
Once the WordPress estate is stable, you will move into the wider infrastructure audit and deployment work.
You will:
audit all servers, containers, domains, repositories, databases, queues and environments;
map each application to its server, repository, database and deployment;
compare live code against Git and preserve any live-only changes;
create and verify backups before making structural changes;
standardise GitHub, Gitea, Docker and Coolify;
implement protected branches, pull requests and owner-approved Production releases;
establish a clear deployment flow:
Development → Staging 2 → Staging 1 / Pre-production → Production
separate databases, credentials, Redis/BullMQ services and storage where required;
fix routing, environment variables, persistent volumes, networking and reverse proxies;
deploy and stabilise the remaining applications;
review Cloudflare DNS, SSL, caching, WAF and R2;
configure monitoring, logging, health checks and restart policies;
implement tested application rollback and database recovery;
clean up the local AI and Docker machine;
remove obsolete services only after backup and approval;
produce clear documentation and train the internal team.
No destructive Production change may be made without:
a verified backup;
a documented rollback plan;
explicit owner approval.
The project is complete only when the agreed estate is deployed, tested, backed up, documented and handed over.
We use Codex and other AI development tools heavily.
You must be comfortable deploying AI-assisted builds, reviewing Dockerfiles, environment variables, dependencies and logs, and working with developers to resolve application-level issues.
Blind deployment is not acceptable. You remain responsible for infrastructure validation and deployment safety.
Strong practical experience with most of the following:
Linux VPS administration
Docker and Docker Compose
Coolify or a similar platform
GitHub and Gitea
PostgreSQL backup and recovery
Redis and BullMQ
Cloudflare
Nginx or Traefik
Monitoring and logging
WordPress and cPanel
Next.js, Node.js or Strapi deployments
Kubernetes is not required. We want simple, reliable and maintainable infrastructure.
You will receive daily support from:
Founder: approximately 06:00–15:00 ICT
Technical lead and team: approximately 15:00–03:00 ICT
WordPress developers for the initial cPanel cleanup
Application developers for code-level fixes
Codex-generated audits and deployment packs
You must be available for meaningful daily overlap with the team, ideally including 12:00–16:00 ICT.
We need someone who:
takes initiative;
works independently without disappearing;
communicates clearly;
raises blockers early;
documents every important change;
follows the agreed process;
avoids unnecessary complexity;
finishes and tests what they start.
This role will not suit someone who only produces reports, waits for constant instructions or hands implementation to somebody else.
Immediate start
Remote
Initial one-month contract
Must be your primary project
Daily progress reporting required
Possible ongoing work after successful completion
Please apply with a short summary of your relevant DevOps, Docker, WordPress/cPanel and production deployment experience, your availability and examples of similar estates you have personally cleaned up and redeployed.
