  • Experience in working with multilateral development agencies, donors, and government bodies.

Additional Job Requirements:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences.

  • Strong media relations and networking skills.

  • Proficiency in using communication tools such as WordPress, MailChimp, Adobe Creative Suite, and social media platforms.

Job Summary:

The Manager, Communications will lead the strategic development and implementation of all communications activities to enhance mPower’s brand visibility, promote the organization's mission, and effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders. This role will ensure that all communication efforts are aligned with the organizational goals and effectively reach the target audience, including partners, clients, donors, and employees.

Job Description:

Strategic Communications & Planning:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy that aligns with mPower’s mission, vision, and objectives.
  • Identify key target audiences and tailor messaging to ensure clarity, engagement, and impact.
  • Lead the branding initiatives for mPower, ensuring consistency across all communication channels and materials.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends to ensure messaging stays relevant and reflects mPower's innovations and achievements.

Content Creation & Management:

  • Oversee the creation of all communication materials including press releases, blog posts, articles, newsletters, and reports.
  • Develop and manage social media strategies to grow the organization’s presence on platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter.
  • Ensure high-quality and engaging content for all digital channels, including the company website, ensuring SEO best practices are followed.
  • Create compelling storytelling content to showcase the impact of mPower's projects across various sectors.

Internal Communications:

  • Design and implement effective internal communication plans to engage employees and foster a strong organizational culture.
  • Collaborate with HR to produce and manage content for employee engagement initiatives, newsletters, and internal announcements.
  • Serve as a liaison between different departments to ensure consistent messaging across internal teams.

Public Relations & Media Engagement:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with media outlets, ensuring positive media coverage of mPower’s achievements and initiatives.
  • Act as the media spokesperson, handling inquiries and ensuring mPower's values and accomplishments are communicated effectively.
  • Organize and manage press conferences, media events, and stakeholder meetings to enhance public visibility.

Stakeholder Engagement & Advocacy:

  • Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including development partners, donors, NGOs, and government bodies.
  • Develop advocacy campaigns that promote mPower’s goals and influence policy dialogues in the areas of technology and social development.
  • Draft high-level communication materials for executive leadership to present to donors, partners, and other stakeholders.

Brand Management & Crisis Communication:

  • Manage the brand image of mPower, ensuring that all visual and written communications reflect the company’s identity and values.
  • Develop and execute crisis communication strategies, providing timely and clear responses to any organizational challenges or external threats.

Reporting & Performance Analysis:

  • Track and analyze the performance of communication campaigns, providing regular reports to the CEO and senior leadership.
  • Use data-driven insights to continuously refine and improve communication strategies for better engagement and impact.
