Job Context:
∎ Position: Manager-Business Analyst, under the division "Communication and Business Development"
∎ DM WATCH was established in 2013 under the name of Disaster Management Watch. Since its establishment, DM WATCH has been involved in research, consultancy, and training, engaging a group of young professionals with diverse backgrounds. Envisioning to contribute to the development of the society and the country as a whole, DM WATCH has been working with various partners from both the public and private sectors.
∎ DM WATCH envisions that an informed and inclusive society tackles its current ecological, economic, cultural, social and technological development challenges responsibly for a sustainable and affluent future. Thus, its mission is to build a platform for researchers and development enthusiasts to conduct impactful researches, generate meaningful knowledge and, help its stakeholders in making informed decisions concerning development challenges. ∎ DM WATCH is working to contribute in the creation of a sustainable and desirable future through quality research and consultancy in partnership with government agencies, donor agencies, INGOs, local NGOs, and various academic and research institutions. Job Responsibilities:
∎ Comprehensively review development issues of different sectors
∎ Stay abreast of what is currently going on in the field of development and business
∎ Reading papers, journals, or books to keep updated on new advances in area of research, training and consultancy
∎ Understand and shape the firm's strategy and operation
∎ Coordinate with the management to research, identify, analyze, and execute new business initiatives
∎ Provide input to senior management team in making effective decisions
∎ Net Present Value (NPV) analysis
∎ Benefit Cost Ratio (BCA) analysis
∎ Internal Rate of Return (IRR) analysis
∎ Economic cost benefit analysis (CBA)
∎ Generate new partnerships, lead deal negotiations, in collaboration with research, finance and operations teams
∎ Research the market and business trends for effectively identifying current and emerging business opportunities
∎ Prepare high quality response current and emerging business opportunities in collaboration with the research team and other resources
∎ Business process modeling
∎ Conduct feasibility study
∎ Develop, prepare and review business proposals both technical and financial, and build organisation's assets and templates in this regard
∎ Search and identify suitable national and international consultancy and research projects for bidding
∎ Preparing and submitting grant applications
∎ Manage projects awarded at an overall level with support from other resources
Additional Requirements:
∎ The candidate should possess the experience of conducting activities related to research, development and management independently in the field of Business Development and Management.
∎ Be confident but open to reasonable and constructive feedback
∎ Be prepared to step out of the comfort zone by learning and applying novel techniques and topics
∎ Have good communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
∎ Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, both in Bangla and English
∎ Have good organizational and administrative skills
∎ Have good facilitation skills
∎ Be a critical thinker, numerate, curious, independent, exited to learn, flexible, creative, and professional, a passionate reader, a dynamic worker, organized and collaborative, and comfortable with new tech.
∎ Have a good understanding and hands on experience of working in/with networks, databases and other cloud-based applications
∎ Have strong attention to detail, the ability to problem solving, the capacity to lead a team, and the practice of critical analysis
Salary:
∎ BDT 80,000-BDT 110,000
