WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR - REQUIREMENTS:

• At least 14 years of relevant work experience, preferably from law firms and MNC’s
• Awareness of legal and commercial risks and the ability to establish means for managing such risks consistent with business objectives
• Possess credible international & local and/or regional leadership experience with sound cross-cultural exposure

WHAT THIS POSITION IS ABOUT - PURPOSE:

To act as legal advisor for JT International Bangladesh's business operations in Bangladesh; and to assist the Regional Legal team in advising on commercial and regulatory matters as well as other issues affecting the JTI entities in Bangladesh. 

WHAT WILL YOU DO - RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assisting the business (including Market, GSC and Leaf entities) with developing an improved understanding of tobacco and commercial regulations, as well as improved capability to communicate/discuss/align on legal issues in a timely and appropriate manner
• Advising on commercial law, including contracts and commercial issues
• Reviewing general commercial contracts (e.g. trading, purchasing, supply, service, distribution agreements, etc.)
• Advising the business on employment, data protection, consumer protection, competition, anti-corruption and bribery and other relevant laws to ensure compliance
• Developing and drafting arguments in defending the company’s interests and advocating certain corporate positions
• Advising on matters related to JTI’s entities in Bangladesh, including corporate governance, leases, contracts, industrial relations and labor matters
