Job Context:
∎ We are looking for a talented and highly-analytical Lab Assistant to join our growing team. As the Lab Assistant, you will work with our senior staff to process samples, perform tests, and record and analyses results. The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge of lab procedures and understand the importance of maintaining a clean workspace by following all lab regulations for health and safety. In addition to having strong attention to detail, you must be responsible and demonstrate excellent communication skills.
∎ Duty Station: Ukhiya - Refugee camp, Bangladesh
∎ Report To: Laboratory Coordinator
∎ Expected Start Date: At Earliest
∎ Contract length: Up to 31st December, 2022 (With possibility of Extension subject to funding, program needs and performance of incumbent)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Under the guidance of the Laboratory Coordinator, the Laboratory Assistant will be responsible for-
∎ Collection of sample following guideline
∎ Prepare samples for testing using various laboratory equipment.
∎ Maintain all laboratory records.
∎ Comply with the correct procedures, policies, and health and safety regulations.
∎ Conduct laboratory tests, analyze results, and document your findings.
∎ Stay informed with the latest industry trends, techniques, and best practices.
∎ Document all activities, results and report back to management.
∎ Clean and sterilize equipment and work area.
∎ Collect and prepare research and information needed for studies.
∎ Classify and label samples.
∎ Undertake basic administrative tasks such as filing and answering telephones.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Previous experience in international organization is an advantage.
∎ Good coordination skills.
∎ Experience working with supply chain/ supply management.
∎ Computer Skills.(e.g-Microsoft word, Excel)
Salary:
∎ As per RI National Pay Scale Policy in Bangladesh
Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ Weekly 2 holidays, Insurance
∎ Two festival bonuses in a year equivalent to one Gross salary.
∎ Severance (8.33% of the monthly Gross salary) goes with the monthly release of the salary
