Educational Requirements:
∎ Diploma in IT/ICT/Computer Science/Computer Science and Engineering or relevant subjects from a reputed polytechnic institute
Job Context:
∎ Department: Department of Computer Science and Engineering
∎ Location: BRAC University
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Maintain all computers and computer equipment (computers and peripherals, printers, projectors, etc.) in all CSE computer labs and in the CSE department
∎ Ensures software programs and other configuration issues are loaded and prepared, ready for each scheduled class, before a semester starts
∎ Performs regular software backups
∎ Offers general support to faculty and students in the lab
∎ Monitors files and programs downloaded onto the computers to make sure spyware, malware, and other dangerous programs are not downloaded
∎ Conducts regular inventory and maintenance on the computers in the lab and the department
∎ Provides initial diagnosis and resolution of minor hardware and technical problems to ensure operational condition but may request specialized technical services when required
∎ Ensure the lab is always supervised to avoid possible theft or malicious use of all the equipment
∎ Sets up and shuts down the lab according to work hours
Additional Requirements:
∎ Able to provide high-level technical and maintenance support on hardware issues, installing, configuring, using software programs, and understanding specific operating systems (Windows and Ubuntu)
∎ Professional experience in the relevant field will be given preference
∎ Proficiency in MS Office applications and the use of the Internet
∎ Ability to plan, prioritize own workload and work on own initiative
∎ Must be self-motivated, hardworking, and flexible regarding work hour
∎ Experience in using initiative and creativity to resolve problems, identifying suitable solutions and opportunities for improvement
∎ Must be able to communicate with students and faculty in an appropriate manner.
