• Briz Apparel Group – Our corporate website.

• Briz Sports – Custom sportswear for schools, sporting clubs, businesses, and organisations.

• Briz Uniform – School uniforms and corporate uniforms for schools, organisations, and businesses, including large national and multinational companies.

• Briz Leavers – Custom Year 6 and Year 12 leavers' apparel and graduation products for schools throughout Australia.

You will work across all four websites. While these websites are already well established, they are continually evolving. Your role will involve improving existing websites, building new pages and features, maintaining content, and occasionally redeveloping major sections—or even an entire website—as our business grows.

Our websites are one of our most important business assets, so we place a strong emphasis on quality, performance, usability, and professional presentation.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled, proactive, and experienced WordPress Web Developer who can work independently and deliver high-quality websites with minimal supervision.

You will receive project objectives, business requirements, and guidance in English. From there, you should be able to understand the requirements, plan your work, make sound technical decisions, and produce polished, professional results.

This role is suited to someone who enjoys solving problems, takes ownership of their work, pays close attention to detail, and continuously looks for better ways to improve a website.

If you require constant supervision, prefer waiting for detailed instructions before taking action, or struggle to work independently, this position is unlikely to be a good fit.

Job Responsibilities

Your work will vary from small daily website updates to complete website redevelopment projects.

Responsibilities include:

• Develop, maintain, and continuously improve our WordPress websites.

• Redevelop entire websites or major sections when required.

• Build new pages, landing pages, and website features based on business requirements.

• Update existing pages with new content, layouts, images, and functionality.

• Upload products, images, documents, and website content.

• Perform regular website maintenance, corrections, and backend housekeeping.

• Implement designs created by our graphic design team into polished, responsive web pages.

• Present provided content in a professional, engaging, and user-friendly manner.

• Improve layouts, formatting, navigation, and user experience where appropriate.

• Implement technical SEO improvements, including meta titles, meta descriptions, image optimisation, schema, and other recommendations provided by our SEO specialist.

• Optimise website speed, performance, security, and responsiveness.

• Troubleshoot and resolve website bugs and technical issues.

• Write clean, maintainable, secure, and well-documented code.

• Recommend smarter technical solutions and continuously improve our websites.

• Deliver work efficiently while maintaining excellent quality and accuracy.

Working Environment

You will be supported by an experienced team.

• Our graphic designers will create graphics, illustrations, banners, and visual assets.

• Our SEO specialist will provide SEO strategies and optimisation recommendations.

• Management will provide business requirements, content, product information, and overall project direction.

Your responsibility is to bring everything together into professional, responsive, user-friendly websites.

After your initial training and familiarisation with our products, brands, and business processes, you will be expected to work independently with minimal supervision while consistently delivering accurate, high-quality work.

Essential Requirements

We are looking for someone who has:

• Strong commercial experience developing WordPress websites.

• Ability to independently build complete, professional WordPress websites from concept to completion.

• Excellent knowledge of WordPress, PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MySQL.

• Experience customising WordPress themes and plugins.

• Strong understanding of responsive web development.

• Good understanding of UI/UX principles and modern web design.

• Excellent visual design sense, including typography, spacing, consistency, and page layout.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Ability to understand English instructions quickly and accurately.

• Ability to think independently and make sensible decisions without requiring step-by-step guidance.

• Ability to understand the objective behind each project rather than simply completing assigned tasks.

• Fast, organised, and capable of managing multiple projects.

• Excellent attention to detail with a strong focus on producing error-free work.

• Honest, reliable, responsible, and committed to meeting deadlines.

• A willingness to continuously learn and improve.

Preferred Skills

• Experience building custom WordPress websites.

• Website security and performance optimisation.

• Experience using Git/GitHub.

• Understanding of SEO best practices.

• Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Claude, or Gemini to improve productivity and development efficiency.
