Educational Requirements:
∎ Minimum Bachelor degree in English, Geography, Environmental Science, Sociology or any discipline with reputed university.
Job Context:
∎ LEDARS is NGO Affairs Bureau affiliated NGO working in the southwest coastal region of Bangladesh since 1998. The southwest coastal region is one of the climate vulnerable area of the country and people are suffering so much. In this context, LEDARS is implementing a project entitled `Strengthening Livelihood Security of Climate Change Vulnerable People` in Sundarbans region with financial support of German based donor agency. LEDARS is going to hire a Knowledge Management Manager to development a knowledge management center on climate change and environment. It is a senior level position and will be key person to create a knowledge bank and ensuring it`s dissemination as per project plan. She/he will be fully responsible to establish and management of the center and ensure proper management of knowledge management activities. Major job requirements of this post are in below.
∎ Duration: Long term ongoing project.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Development of a knowledge management center in the premises of LEDARS head office,
∎ Collect and develop updated climate change related important news, article on climate change, resilient, adaptation, mitigation, environment conservation, Sundarbans, etc. and make a digital archive,
∎ Collect and translate important article and make document for students and community people,
∎ Have good knowledge on graphics design, illustrator, etc. and able to make design of quarterly e and printed newsletter,
∎ Organize session with school and college students on important issue on climate change, environment conservation etc.
∎ Make presentation both in PowerPoint and video to increase awareness of community people,
∎ Linkage development with different college and universities to make access their information to our knowledge management center,
∎ Ensure keeping of record and archiving information in a physical and digital format
∎ Make effective relation with local, national and international knowledge network and alliance for bilateral knowledge sharing,
∎ Develop climate change issue based writing and publication both soft and hard copy
∎ Prepare yearly and monthly knowledge management action plan
∎ Invite different educational institute to conduct their intern activities by using LEDARS knowledge management center,
∎ Collect climate change, adaptation based knowledge in cooperation with team members.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Priority will be given to experience candidate.
∎ Excellent speech and presentation delivery skill,
∎ Have capacity to translate English-Bengali-English,
∎ Sound computer skill on MS Office(Word, Power Point, Excel), Illustrator, website browsing,
∎ Excellent interpersonal communication skills and fluency in spoken and written English.
∎ Strong knowledge on climate change, ecology and environment issue,
∎ Have a confident, positive, and friendly attitude,
∎ Willingness to travel in coastal area,
Salary: Tk. 25830 (Monthly)
