Work experience
Minimum 5+ years of working experience in development and governance and in the area of gender equality and social inclusion, be this in Government (at federal or sub-national level) or with well recognized national institution and/or international agency;
Work experience in a fast-paced, mission-driven work environment
Familiarity with current Knowledge Management technologies and practices in a web-based environment; GESI strategy and practice;
Demonstrated skills on preparing quality reports, technical documents and other knowledge products;
Focuses on delivering results by taking calculated-risks and problem-solving approach;
Knowledge of international donors/funders and the development sector is a plus;
Skills

About the program: Oporajita- Collective Impact on Future of Work is a collaborative initiative among 15 organizations to equip women garment workers in Bangladesh for a future defined by automation and digitalization. The Asia Foundation is acting as the Backbone Organization (BO) for Oporajita and will be guiding the strategy, vision, and communications for the collective. This initiative follows the Collective Impact Model and aims to holistically address challenges to women’s future employment opportunities and livelihoods – and achieve transformative change for the industry and the people working within. The initiative covers multiple aspects within thematic areas that impact the lives of women garment workers, such as providing future-fit skill training, cultivating an enabling environment that supports their future aspirations, and fostering collaboration in an RMG sector that is inclusive of their choices.
Role Summary : The Knowledge Management (KM) and Gender Equality & Social Inclusion (GESI) Lead is responsible for providing strategic leadership and technical oversight for knowledge management, learning, and GESI integration across the Collective Impact (CI) Initiative. Reporting to the Program Director and working closely with the Backbone Organization (BO), implementing partners, and other stakeholders, the position leads the development and implementation of KM systems, knowledge products, learning initiatives, and GESI strategies to strengthen evidence-based programming, policy influence, collaboration, and organizational learning.
The role ensures the effective documentation, synthesis, dissemination, and utilization of knowledge generated through the initiative while promoting a culture of learning and adaptive management. The position also provides technical guidance to mainstream GESI across program design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, research, communications, capacity development, and partnership activities, ensuring that the needs and perspectives of women, children, and other marginalized groups are systematically addressed. In addition, the role contributes to proposal development, donor engagement, sectoral analysis, and external representation of the initiative and The Asia Foundation.
I. Main duties and responsibilities
Job summary:
Develop, execute, and manage innovative and cost-effective on-line and off-line KM tools and systems to consolidate, compile and disseminate information and knowledge generated from various interventions under CI initiative as well as promote knowledge sharing and learning culture within the CI initiative.
Develop and implement the knowledge management strategy and create a framework for the CI Initiative and the Backbone Organization. Within this framework, work collaboratively with CI core staff to identify, and prioritize types of knowledge to develop and capture;
Support in synthesizing initiatives’ achievements to generate collective knowledge and developing strategic and technical documents for influencing policy and practice by informing key partners and other targeted audiences about the initiative;
Coordinate to collect and retrieve project’s knowledge products and contents for global communication in alignment with global content strategy and relevant campaigns;
Working in partnership with Communications Lead to determine how to best share knowledge to both internal and external stakeholders/audiences, including print and electronic information; distribute relevant Foundation knowledge to increase understanding of the Initiative’s work, best practices of Collective Impact approach and to build Initiative’s networks; contribute to producing resource materials on GESI related issues i.e., periodic blogs, articles, technical documents, policy briefs, etc.;
Serve as BO’s key focal point for managing data requests, and assist by providing knowledge products in the form desired by TAF teams, implementation and strategic partners;
Carry out desktop research and sectoral analysis using a range of methods and sources of data; conduct qualitative analysis of data conducted through interviews, focus groups, workshops or other methods;
Contribute to program fundraising initiatives by conducting donor mapping, developing project proposals and concept notes aligned with organizational and program priorities;
Provide strategic and programmatic support and inputs to implementing partners and to BO team members, regarding the realization of the GESI strategy through the initiative’s outputs to ensure that men, women, and vulnerable social groups’ relationships and livelihoods are examined and considered.
Conduct field visits to observe and identify room for improvement for GESI elements and organize, lead and hosts workshops with implementation partners and CI staff and support in effective application of CI’s GESI strategies;
Support the partners to operationalize the Unified GESI Action Plan of Oporajita.
Identify capacity development needs with regard to GESI of the CI Initiative Staff of partners and support the development and provision of internal capacity development activities of partners to ensure that GESI elements are well mainstreamed into all capacity development initiatives and all training materials;
Collaborate with the Thematic Working Groups Lead and provide support covering coordination with the Implementing partners to ensure GESI focus on the interventions and activities;
Collaborate with M&E Lead to update and monitor GESI indicators in the shared measurement system to make sure impact measurement focuses on women, children and other intersectional groups;
Review draft research reports, and external communication materials to assure they were developed and designed with a GESI sensitive approach;
Support TAF Bangladesh as the GESI focal point and join different external platforms on behalf of TAF. support Proposal Development team to ensure GESI elements are well articulated.
