Job Context:
∎ LEDARS is NGO Affairs Bureau affiliated NGO working in the southwest coastal region of Bangladesh since 1998. The southwest coastal region is one of the climate vulnerable areas of the country and people are suffering so much. In this context, LEDARS is implementing a project entitled `Strengthening Livelihood Security of Climate Change Vulnerable People` in Sundarbans region with financial support of German based donor agency. LEDARS is going to hire a Knowledge and Research Manager to manage global and local knowledge for the betterment of community people. It is the senior level position and will be key person to manage Knowledge Management Center. Following are the major job requirements of this post.
∎ Job Nature: Full Time
∎ Job Location: Shyamnagar, Satkhira.
∎ Job Location: ShyamnagarUpazila under Satkhira District
∎ Duration: Long term ongoing project.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Have good experience on climate change, science, negotiation, etc.
∎ Collect and translate important article on climate change from different sources and make document for local students and community people
∎ Have to has good knowledge on graphics design, illustrator, photoshop, etc. and able to make design of quarterly e and printed newsletter,
∎ Conduct need-base study and research on different climate change issue
∎ Collect information on best practice of community people, develop article and publish in newsletter/media
∎ Capture video from filed and edit as an audio-visual knowledge product,
∎ Organize and facilitate session with school and college students on important issue on climate change, environment conservation etc.
∎ Linkage development with different universities, select student from different faculty and offer scholarship to do research/thesis on climate change issue,
∎ Ensure keeping of record and archiving information in a physical and digital format
∎ Make effective relation with local, national and international knowledge network and alliance for bilateral knowledge sharing,
∎ Take care the Knowledge Management Center establish in the LEDARS head office premises,
∎ Support field visit of donor, journalist, visitor and other stakeholder,
∎ Development of short- and long-term course curriculum for development practitioner and students,
∎ Responsible to prepare case study, event report and need base any kinds of report required by organization, donor and potential stakeholders.
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 2years in senior level management in NGO.
∎ She/he should have work experience in participatory program planning, management, monitoring, evaluation and PRA tools,
∎ Excellent interpersonal communication skills, fluency in spoken and written English is given priority,
∎ Interested to travel in rural area and work with community people,
∎ Have knowledge on graphics design, video editing and printing,
∎ Familiar with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Salary:
∎ Provisional period salary is 27,200 take and permanent period salary is 30,600.00 take (Monthly).
Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ Yearly increment, festival bonus and provident funds.
