LAMB is a well-run major mission Hospital, Community Health Development, Training and Research organization. Services cover more than 6.3 million people in North West Bangladesh. The hospital is of 150 bed capacity, with fully equipped wards, labour room and three operation theatres, plus a broad range of investigation facilities including X-ray, USG and ECG.
The Hospital has departments of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Nursing and a Rehabilitation Center for Children and Adults with Disability.
Job Summary: Work with a team of experienced nurse anaesthesiologists. We have elective surgeries weekly on 3 three days by surgical department and 2 days by gynae department, using spinal and general anaesthesia. 24/7 emergency surgeries are mostly by obstetric department. Number of days and possibly being part of anesthesiology oncall rota are subject to discussion.

Responsible Clinical leader with authority to teach and lead
Competent clinically to manage all common problems and most atypical presentations
Passionate concern and sense of responsibility for patients in the department
Willingness and ability to seek help when required and learn, specifically from Dr. Rebecca, Senior Consultant, who previously worked at LAMB longterm and is coming regularly on a short term basis.
Is willing and capable to take responsibility for anesthesia team, medically supervising and working along-side non-doctor anesthesiologists.
gives training to other doctors and nurses in life support skills.
Writes and updates guidelines and is involved in planning for the department
Facilitates audit and evaluates results
Involved in reporting to donors
Involvement in research projects desired
Involvement in networking within BD and/or internationally is desired
Management responsibilities:
Taking ownership of LAMB’s overall goals (‘Ends’) and strategic plans and targets, and making progress towards them
Involvement in planning, teaching as well as working together with other departments in integrated way
Able to set and pursue goals for personal development in improving clinical knowledge and skills as well as admin and managerial skills
Prepared to give extra time outside regular working hours to support team, department, hospital or project if needed – this may be for a special project or meeting as agreed in advance or in a case of emergency.
Salary: Gross Salary for 100% Tk. 75,000 - 110,000/month depending on experience and qualifications; other benefits include Medical Care at LAMB Hospital, Provident Fund, and a festival allowance (100% of basic salary) once per year, and death benefit.
LAMB provides in campus accommodation for all doctors with affordable rent. Housing has 24 hours electricity and safe water supply. There is an on-site English Medium School for staff Children.
