Job Context:
∎ As an IT technical support officer, you`ll install and configure computer systems, diagnose hardware and software faults and solve technical and application problems.
∎ Maintain and Operate POS & Tally Software.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Individual tasks vary depending on the type of technical support you are providing, but in general, you'll need to:
∎
∎ keep computer systems running smoothly and ensure users get the maximum benefit from them
∎ install and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications
∎ monitor and maintain computer systems and networks
∎ talk staff or clients through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the phone, to help set up systems or resolve issues
∎ troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults
∎ replace parts as required
∎ provide support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports
∎ follow diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system
∎ support the roll-out of new applications
∎ set up new users' accounts and profiles and deal with password issues
∎ respond within agreed time limits to call-outs
∎ work continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate)
∎ priorities and manage many open cases at one time
∎ rapidly establish a good working relationship with customers and other professionals, such as software developers
∎ test and evaluate new technology
∎ conduct electrical safety checks on computer equipment.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 18 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ 1. Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers etc.)
∎ 2. Check computer hardware (HDD, Mouses, keyboards etc.) to ensure functionality
∎ 3. Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications
∎ 4. Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance
∎ 5. Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
∎ 6. Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
∎ 7. Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work
∎ 8. Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)
∎ 9. Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule
∎ 10. Identify computer or network equipment shortages and place orders
∎ 11. Proven experience as IT Technician or relevant position
∎ 12. Excellent diagnostic and problem solving skills
∎ 13. Excellent communication ability
∎ 14. Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
∎ 15. In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
∎ 16. Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
∎ 17. Degree in Computer Science, engineering or relevant field
∎ 18. Certification as IT Technician will be an advantage (e.g. CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional)
Salary: Negotiable
