Experience:

Immunization program (Objective)
The objective of the program is to promote and support WCO Bangladesh in strengthening surveillance of vaccine preventable diseases and in improving immunization performance, including introduction of new vaccines and accelerated control of vaccine preventable diseases. Selected candidates will be assisting in developing and improving the national and sub-national immunization plans and in promoting the capacity for sustainable improvement in alignment with the objectives and goals of the National EPI and WCO Bangladesh.
Job Description
Under the overall guidance to the project and in close collaboration with Team Leader/ focal persons
Performance reviews including development of cost multi-year/ short term plans for Immunization
Integrating immunization services with the health system and conducting EPI and surveillance of adverse events following immunization (AEFI) as well as issues related to the availability and supply of quality vaccines
Technical assistance at National/ District level for strengthening immunization systems and services to support improvements in routine immunization coverage, including an analysis of the cause of low coverage as well as the development, implementation and monitoring of operational plans to overcome the barriers to achieve high immunization coverage; development of guidelines and facilitating the training activities
Technical assistance at the National/District/CC level to support the introduction of new and under-utilized vaccines including analysis of disease burden, development of proposals, technical guidelines
Technical assistance at the National/ District / CC level to support immunization and surveillance activities for vaccine preventable diseases during an emergency
Technical assistance at the National/ District/ CC level to support research activities as relevant for the achievement and maintenance of elimination/control of vaccine preventable diseases, including operational research to improve immunization coverage and surveillance performance
Technical/ administrative assistance at the National/ CC level (Local government/city corporation government offices) to support infant and adult vaccination program surveillance/ outbreak response activities
Assist the technical and administration teams in preparing the budget and other necessary documentation related routine immunization/ Surveillance related activities
Assist activities in operational planning and implementation such as training, monitoring and evaluation, vaccine and cold chain, vaccine safety surveillance, data reporting and recording, communication, and advocacy in districts/City Corporations
Develop the capacity of district health staff to ensure quality implementation and other Immunization related activities including vaccine-preventable diseases control activities and to collect timely and complete data on program performance and data analysis to ensure timely corrective action
Engage with relevant immunization partners and stakeholders to update and raise awareness related to immunization-related activities
Provide technical assistance to local government authorities, NGOs regarding vaccines and/ or any other new vaccine introduction
Provide technical support to district health authorities during emergency situations like flood, cyclones, and other natural disasters and disease outbreaks in planning and monitoring of health relief activities in affected areas and investigation of emerging diseases outbreaks
Submit monthly activity report to the authority
Perform any other related duties as assigned
